Works in order of Continuity edit

First of all, I think it's a little silly to order things by Continuity. For example, the book The Magic Mirror of Oz is subtitled "The Oz Book for 1943", only the last seven chapters of thirty four actually take place during that year. The book starts in 1917, but most of the chapters do not take place in that year either. Some people would argue to label the book the year of its beginning, others would argue the year of its end, others would argue the year in which the most of the action takes place.

This is a problem that has cropped up in Oz circles before. I think it was the two collaborators on the HACC that first experienced this difficulty. And there are good arguments for the use of either. Both dates must be considered when deciding what took place during what.

Furthermore, the current list is wrong by ALL reckonings. ALL of China Dog took place after ALL of Careless Kangaroo, as did ALL of Uncle Henry. And I'm not even sure you can fit all of Laumer's books on just one continuity. I would place at least Fattywiggins and Crown of Oz in a completely different continuity, and it seems to me that Talking City was written mostly by Baxley, with only minor editing by Laumer.

The easiest way to make a list of books, in my humble opinion, is by publication date. This gives us only one date to keep track of, and makes everything much easier. Thus, I would prefer its use in this article. 172.130.157.143 (talk) 21:56, 17 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps I should reverse the placement of the lists vis a vis List of published Oz Apocrypha. --Scottandrewhutchins (talk) 06:16, 19 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
