Help Please!

I have started creating the article List of Indian film series. I need your help in adding the film series in Malayalam language. Since there might be a lot of them consisting of 2 films, my opinion is that only those film series with 3 or more films should be added (all of which have been released only). Already 2 film series have been added. Please feel free to come and add more and do the required corrections. Once fully created, this list will be highly informative. All future opinions and comments should be posted here or on my talk page only please since I would not be watching this talk page. - Jayadevp13 17:13, 26 December 2013 (UTC)

Content dispute

Apparently there seems to be some dispute in the recent edits. Can anyone solve it? --TL22 (talk) 12:54, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

There was a dispute a year back and there was a wiki content war and moderator got involved. This was the moderated version of the text:
"Malayalam cinema is the Indian film industry based in Kerala, dedicated to the production of motion pictures in the Malayalam language.
At first (beginning in the 1920s), the Malayalam film industry was based in Trivandrum. Although the film industry started to develop and flourish only by the late-1940s. Later, the industry shifted to Chennai (formerly Madras), which then was the capital of the South Indian film industry. By the end of 1980s, the Malayalam film industry returned and established itself in Kerala.[1] Several media sources[2][3] describe Kochi as the hub of the film industry, while the Kerala government publications[4] state Thiruvananthapuram is the centre."
There was a long discussion and it got finalized. Apparently someone is editing and removing the information.111.92.59.154 (talk) 13:03, 3 April 2015 (UTC)
And it seems it turned from a content dispute to an edit war. --TL22 (talk) 13:19, 3 April 2015 (UTC)

Well, it was a content dispute moved to edit war that time as well, when someone tried to twist the fact with some biased media news. I think it was SilkTork who moderated it and finalized the content " Several media sources[2][3] describe Kochi as the hub of the film industry, while the Kerala government publications[4] state Thiruvananthapuram is the centre.". Since Kochi and Trivandrum are part of Kerala state, it was mentioned that industry is based in Kerala state instead of putting a city name alone. Reason was that film shooting and processing happens in both cities with studios and post production facilities. Two sides had posted relevant reports and moderated decision was taken. Looks like it is going back to same old discussion. "Superstars"

I've reverted the good-faith edits here made by Poojanair 82nov. In addition to being unsourced, there is no intrinsic encyclopedic value in applying labels of "superstar" to various actors. These are improperly attributed labels, but more importantly, they are opinions in that "superstar" is a subjective determination. We don't present opinions as facts here at Wikipedia. The world's first film with just one actor in the cast

In this edit I removed the following assertion: The world's first film with just one actor in the cast was the Malayalam film The Guard (2001) There was some back and forth about this in the last few days beginning with the removal here and then the resubmission here by Malayala Sahityam. Firstly, this statement doesn't pass the smell test. In the entirety of film history, where films can be 2 minutes long or 4 hours long, and where hundreds of thousands of films have been made across the globe since film cameras were invented circa the late-1800s, we are expected to believe that nobody produced a one-person film until 2001 when the Malayalam industry produced The Guard? Nonsense! That totally defies logic. Now, moving on to the existing sources that alleged to support the statement, this one 404s. However even the archive casts direct doubt on this statement. "The Guard, produced jointly by Green Dragon Movies and KSFDC, is supposed by many to be the first ‘one-man film’. Even the makers have attempted to show case it as the first film in the world in which there is only one character on screen. Seems they have all forgotten Sunil Dutt’s experimental Yaadein!" So from that reference we know that there's another film that could fit the bill, but even the source doesn't think it's likely that this is the first one-man film. The other reference notes, "Recently, a private Malayalam satellite channel screened The Guard, a unique feature film. The film has just one actor in the star cast, Kalabhavan Mani, who played a forest guard." They don't say that it was "the world's first film with just one actor in the cast" They call it "unique" but that's clearly not meant to be taken literally. Also the 1975 US film Give 'em Hell, Harry! has only one credited cast member. The Human Voice appears to be a 1966 TV movie featuring Ingrid Bergman delivering a monologue. So it's obviously impossible for The Guard to be the first film with just one actor in the cast. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 20:36, 27 December 2015 (UTC)

For further reference purposes, Robert Altman's 1984 film Secret Honor stars Philip Baker Hall as Richard Nixon giving an extended monologue/rant. There are no other actors in the film. Tigercompanion25 (talk) 16:26, 31 December 2015 (UTC)

Neutrality of article

It seems fans of certain actors or technicians are constantly trying to vandalize the page. Delilah050 (talk) 19:39, 20 January 2020 (UTC)
