I think the Pig Stand restaurant in Dallas is widely recognized as having the first car hops/curb service, not Maid-Rite. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.248.46.115 (talk) 13:24, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
Carhop/curb service is not the same thing as a drive-through window. Rklawton (talk) 15:58, 29 May 2009 (UTC)Reply
There are several errors in this. Maid-Rite Sandwich shop in Springfield, IL is not and was not a part of the Iowa Maid-Rite franchise. Maid-Rite Sandwich shop in Springfield, IL was opened 2 years prior to the Maid-Rite in Iowa. Springfield is the original and the 1st drive thru as documented by the historical society. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kmbrown91 (talk • contribs) 19:03, 24 September 2012 (UTC)Reply

Is there a source for Maid-Rite being what the sandwich shop in Rosanne is based off of? I had heard that it was based off of the Canteen in Ottumwa. Tuyvan 05:38, 26 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've restored the image. The article talks about hard times, and the image expresses this well. The editor who deleted it asserted that it wasn't a franchise, but it's clearly the same name/colors, and so on. More information about this "not a franchise" comment would be useful. Without that, the image should stay because it helps tell part of the story. Rklawton (talk) 18:45, 10 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
The editor who removed the image has also indicate he/she has a conflict of interest. I'll post on note on his/her page about that as well. Rklawton (talk) 19:38, 16 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
