Burial date - possible grounds for amendment

I am wary of the date of 1 July 1627 being given as her date of burial. The citation used states that John Donne preached the funeral sermon on that date, itself cited to a biography of George Herbert. In the History of Parliament article on Sir John Danvers, her burial date is parenthetically given as 8 June 1627, cited to a book 'Chelsea' volume II page 130, by T.Faulkner. The earlier date may have been her actual interment at Chelsea Old Church (which may be supported by parish registers if published) and the sermon may have been preached at the later date when an optimum number of people could be invited to attend a service. Izaak Walton, who wrote a detailed biography of George Herbert that is nearest the latter's lifetime, attended the service at which Donne preached; his account, anyone with access to it, ought to be consulted. A more modern (1990s when I read it) biography of George Herbert opens with a description of the service where Walton first noticed George among the family mourners.Cloptonson (talk) 18:51, 29 December 2021 (UTC)

'She managed her own death' - clarification needed

The sentence She managed her own death needs a rephrase to be understandable to modern readers who may not have access to the online or hardback editions of the ODNB. It could be misunderstood to mean she had an assisted death in the modern sense of these words. I suspect the correct term in place of "death" was "funeral arrangements" but I am not sure I am on target to go ahead and change it if the citation does not support my interpretation.Cloptonson (talk) 08:08, 30 December 2021 (UTC)
