Talk:MMH-Badger MAC

I found this line in the article:

MMH* = {$g_{x}$ : $F_{p}^{k}$ → $F_{p}$ | $x$ ϵ $F_{p}^{k}$}

I changed it to this:

$\mathrm {MMH} ^{*}=\{g_{x}:F_{p}^{k}\rightarrow F_{p}|x\in F_{p}^{k}\}\,$

The former format is bizarre and obnoxious, switching back and forth every few characters between TeX and non-TeX notation. The latter is standard use of TeX—not only within Wikipedia, but in the larger world.

Why would someone write something so obnoxious?
