Contested deletion

This article should not be speedily deleted for lack of asserted importance because MHacks is a reoccurring hackathon event that has influenced the innovative, technology-related community at the very least across the United States of America. Furthermore, MHacks has sparked other hackathons as well, therefore causing the community to expand.

First, I'll point to the currently existing hackathon articles:

• PennApps
• Hackathon

The above two articles, by their uncontested existance on Wikipedia, already show that hackathons are events which, in general, are important in at least some sense. I personally did not write nor work on the two articles above, but I contest that they have greatly influenced the technology-oriented, innovative community. In particular, student-oriented hackathons have attracted more students every year to be a part of the innovative, creative hackathon community, such as PennApps, MHacks, and others not on Wikipedia just yet such as BoilerMake and YHacks. These large student-oriented hackathons bring students across the nation and even across the world together to meet other innovative students, interact with leading technology companies, and work together to build on their skills and experience while possibly creating the next WhastApp or Occulus Rift. For sponsors or other companies, the event allows them to interact directly with budding, innovative students to not only help them improve the nation-wide if not worldwide innovative community, but to also recruit students while directly interacting with them in their "native" working environment.

MHacks, in particular, is a large hackathon (~1200 participants) that attracts not only experienced students but students who have no experience coding as well. Many other hackathons, in contrast, focus on bringing the best to compete for prizes. Additionally, MHacks brings notable technology companies every event, including Bloomberg, Apple, Facebook, Microsoft, FireBase, Epic Healthcare Systems, SalesForce's CollegeTarget, and Pillar. In addition, MHacks has sparked further interest in the student hackathon community. On one hand, as previously mentioned, it brings together students with little to no experience alongside extremely experienced individuals. On the other hand, it has inspired other hackathons (just as PennApps inspired MHacks).

I apologize for not citing sources in this talk. It's actually the primary reason why I'm having difficulty to include the above information. However, if you would like sources in the meantime for these statements, I would be glad to provide them.
