So why didnt this weapon stay in production after WW2?, Being slightly lighter and having a higher ROF, This would probably beat the M2 series

It could have been rebarelled to .50 Caliber

why rough equivalent? it also shot more rounds per minute —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.220.237.193 (talk) 22:05, 1 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

The weapon was expressly designed for aircraft use. Accordingly, it fitted a much smaller nieche than the Browning. Talking about it as the Browning's rival is conjecture. Ondundozonananandana (talk) 13:21, 2 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

The aircraft mounted units used electrical priming for higher firing rates, ground ones were modified for standard percussion action with a reduced ROF. The M2 and MG131 basically fulfilled similar niches. Aldis90 (talk) 16:30, 13 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Translation mismatch edit

The German names do not fit the ammo types. "L'Spur" has to stand for "Leuchtspur", Tracer. A "Pzgr." is a "Panzergranate", armour piercing. "Sprgr", "Sprenggranate", high explosive. "Br." probably would be "Brand", incendiary. According to this the first ammo listed should be "Br. Pzgr.", second one "Spgr. L'Spur" and the last would be correct as "Br. Spgr. L'Spur". "L'Spur" as an abbreviation seems off too, tbh.

Weight edit

The initial paragraph of this article states the gun's length and caliber, but not the weight. So in the second paragraph, when the article stated that the gun was "... a weight less than 60%..." of other guns, I had no idea how much that was. Since I was not familiar with the other guns, I had to interrupt my search, look up how much they weighed, and then multiply that number by 0.6.

In order to clarify the article, I added the words: "... with a weight of 16.6 kilograms (37 lb,)..." to the first paragraph.

Undoing my edit once again obfuscates the article.

I look forward to hearing your argument for undoing my edit.

Respectfully,
