Incomplete information edit

This article needs a range description for Lysimachia.Msbaggott (talk) 04:19, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Clarifications edit

Most of the content under "Characteristics" subheading should be moved to a different subheading, such as the following excerpt: "species within Lysimachia are commonly called loosestrife, although this name is also used for plants within the genus Lythrum. The genus is named in honor of Lysimachus, a king of ancient Sicily, who is said to have calmed a mad ox by feeding it a member of the genus.[5]"

The second part of the quote above may belong under a subheading like "Cultural Significance or History". The first part needs a bit more elaboration on the differences between the two genera commonly known as loosestrife and could be moved to the introductory portion of the article.

This content currently under "Characteristics" should be replaced with a description of the characterizing botanical features and key identification traits of this genus and perhaps a specific description for most common species or two. Msbaggott (talk) 04:59, 13 June 2016 (UTC)Reply
