RBD

I've listened to the whole Live in Hollywood album multiple times and I would remember if Lynda had been mentioned by name (I no longer have this album but I'm sure she isn't). Last year Dulce María claimed not to know who she is. PolenCelestial (talk) 01:59, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Watch Live in Hollywood DVD, they say something like this: "Lynda Thomas, nada de esto sería posible sin ella", words of Alfonso Herrera. There are pictures, in which Thomas was giving singing lessons to Anahí, Maite Perroni and Dulce María, this last woman must be suffering from a severe alzheimer, even Dulce María sang the international hit No pares, written and produced by Lynda Thomas. Fair enough. The article said it was the album rather than the DVD, so I've changed it. I was referring to a twitter DM conversation with Dulce, I asked her about Lynda and she responded "no sé quién es Lynda". When I explained that she is/was the singer/songwriter of "no pares" Dulce didn't respond. Unfortunately I don't have a record of this conversation, but I've included the fact in the article anyway. Tracks credited to Polen Thomas aren't sufficient evidence IMO, she may have been credited by someone else in a manner similar to J.R. Flórez and Fredi Marugán's publication of es:¿Por qué disimular? in their wives' names. PolenCelestial (talk) 02:09, 28 April 2015 (UTC)

Origin, no concensus if she was American, Canadian, Welsh or Mexican

Wikipedia editors, Yahoo and Apple say that Lynda was American, some magazines says she was Welsh, no concensus about her origin, her family lives in USA and Europe, now she can't confirm her origin for obvious reasons; OK, she lived in Tijuana for a few years (her father is probably of Mexican origin), then she moved to Mexico city, but in 1996 she moved to Los Angeles, Ca, then to Austin, then to New York, then to Ontario to reunite with her family. Similar case to Carlos Gardel, no consensus if he was born in Toulouse, Montevideo or Buenos Aires??? PrincessLunaSt (talk) 18:15, 29 January 2016 (UTC)

Too much information is not taking into account, the article is outdated.

Lynda Thomas wrote and produced songs for many pop, rock and hip hop bands, why all these bands are not mentioned in the article, too much information of this woman in not taking into account, her charity work, her tours, her career as a writer, manager and producer for RBD, Kudai, Belinda Peregrín, Eme 15, Aarón Díaz from clase 406 to name a few who became superstars thanks to her. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FueguinoTonkonoff (talk • contribs) 17:31, 5 February 2016 (UTC)

That information is not included here because the collaboration of Thomas with all these artists wasn't voluntary, but to fulfill a contract with EMI, Capitol and Televisa; most of these songs of Thomas which originally belonged to her unreleased albums appeared uncredited, under the pseudonym Polen Thomas or credited to Carlos Lara; although Thomas was a decisive factor in the success of all these artists, it wasn't a voluntary work and happened after her retirement. Anyway, the work of Lynda Thomas is mentioned in the articles of those artists.Ajax1995 (talk) 19:49, 6 February 2016 (UTC)

Lynda Thomas and her "tragic" story and retirement.

It seems that everybody is trying to avoid talking about the crime that Carlos Lara (23 years older than Lynda and his brother in law, spouse of her sister Alissa), commited against Lynda Thomas, since she was 11), therefore to avoid legal charges, he fled to USA and many other countries; Lara constantly changing residence, and about the whereabouts of Lynda Thomas, nobody knows anything since 2002. A lot of information is missing in this page (deliberately); ethics and objectivity please, there are many sources aboit this. IronicoBoricua (talk) 16:58, 22 March 2016 (UTC)

CHARTS

Thomas topped the charts in many countries, unfortunately, in the case of Mexico, I tried to find those charts, but AMPROFON has no on line records from the 1990s, every weekend Televisa broadcast a ranking of the most popular songs in the country, I see that one of the editors added some youtube links as sources, there must be these Televisa ranking videos from the nineties on the internet; Notitas musicales, a defunct magazine also published every weekend such official ranking, and Gira que Gira topped the charts above songs like the debut single by Shakira "Estoy Aqui" and "Fastlove" by George Michael. There are some radio and personal rankings on the internet, but these are personal blogs and unofficial charts, not reliable sources, however there are many sources from 1999 to 2002 which shows Thomas topping the charts in several countries.S. Great, that should certainly be added. Sometimes old magazines appear on Google Books. I tried to look through some old Billboard ones, but there is no mention of her. You're welcome!, and I doubt you can find anything about her on the US Latin/Mexican Billboard charts, since she was not popular among the Immigrants and /Mexican/latin people who live in the United States, meanwhile in Argentina, Chile, Brazil, or Spain; Thomas gained extreme popularity and high sales. And you`re right, old defunct magazines and newspapers would be very useful, in fact, I think this article has many references taken from Google books, too much information about her is missing (in part) because she retired before the explosion of the internet and social media. On the other hand, she has been dissapeared completely for almost 15 years, no social networks, no E-mail, and nobody knows about her location or life, and finally, she was banned from Televisa and Tv Azteca and dismissed from Capitol due to a lamentable and false rumor about Thomas, her sister Alissa (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e6LnWOoNxxU) and her brother in law and manager Carlos Lara (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tq7YH_1DMZU). Debut album - singles

The article stated that a slew of singles were taken from her debut. Not uncommon when the album is aimed at the teenage record buying market. The problem is two-fold. Are these notable releases or just promo singles that were pushed to get airplay? If so, they should not really be listed as they are not official releases. Secondly, if they reached the chart then that needs sourcing - radio airplay charts are unreliable. At the moment it just appears to be too promotional. Karst (talk) 11:59, 18 October 2016 (UTC)

Her unofficial site LyndaPlanet (removed by ajax from this article) and Diseñarte will publish Lynda The Singles Collection, and many other sites also contains information of her rare/limited release CD singles Bailando, No Puedo No Quiero, Tanto, Tanto etc, etc. — Preceding unsigned comment added by S. The point I was making above is that this article needs Reliable sources. Currently, most of it is either primary, fan-sites or newspaper articles that reminisce about the pop/fashion of the 1990s. As I am encountering rather entrenched attitudes here, I will ask two experts @Magiciandude: and @AJona1992: to weigh in. Also notifying administrator @Oshwah: to keep an eye on proceedings.
