Lower Nine Mile River

Lower Nine Mile River does not exist. There is Nine Mile River and Upper Nine Mile River. About 30 years ago, Canada Post issued civic numbers to Hants County Residents. For some reason, perhaps for ease of mail delivery routes, Canada Post arbitrarily changed the name of Nine Mule River to Lower Nine Mile River. Before residents could advocate to maintain its community name, some maps were printed with Lower Nine Mile River on them. Any mention of Lower Nine Mule River in Nova Scotia is incorrect.
