I do not believe that John Hurt's character is back in England at the end of the film watching Hotpants College III. There's no indication that he is in the theatre or that it is in England. A car goes by the front of the cinema and the driver is on the right hand. I believe this film is a comedy, a spoof of Love And Death In Venice. (The title is not Death In Venice). My friend thought that John Hurt committed suicide at the end. If he did'nt then who died? Why is it Love And Death In Long Island? The scene of Hotpants College III we see at the end may be a fantasy sequence, since it is the scene which John Hurt's character wrote for his script, which we can probably assume was never made. Hotpants College seems to be like Porky's, and I'm sure that's intentional. That's what it's supposed to be. In the scene we see in the theatre from Hotpants College III Jason Priestly is giving a eulogy in a cemetary and quoting Walt Whitman, another gay author, just as John Hurt's character wrote it in his script. And what about the insanely long faxed letter he sends to Jason Priestly (who is playing a character probably based on himself)? Is it a suicide note? I think so.
