Talk:Louis Stanley

Conspiracy of Secrets edit

A 2012 book, Conspiracy of Secrets by his stepdaughter B Neate, argues that Louis Stanley was actually born to aristocrat and socialite Venetia Stanley (1887–1948), who as a young woman had an affair of sorts with Prime Minister H. H. Asquith. There's plenty of material in the book about Stanley as a grown man, his character and habits, which could flesh out this article, whether or not the claims of his illegitimate birth are given credence. I have been working on an expansion of this article, which needed it, as Stanley is/was quite important in the history of F1. I am aware of the Neale book and have included it under 'further reading' but have not made any mention of the various allegations made therein as there is not much elsewhere which backs up Ms. Neale's statements. The book is described by some reviewers as 'vengeful' and as reading as if she set out with a claim to make and did what was necessary to prove it. Although not a living person (LTS), using Neale's claims to expand the article would require careful handling I feel. Eagleash (talk) 00:04, 22 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for your expansion. I've tweaked a little. What does LTS mean? Carbon Caryatid (talk) 17:31, 26 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
LTS = Louis Thomas Stanley. Eagleash (talk) 18:44, 26 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
Oh of course. Thanks. Carbon Caryatid (talk) 22:23, 27 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
