Reference to Loftus, West Yorkshire
editThis article contained the entry:
- Street House near Loftus in West Yorkshire
which I disambiguated to:
- Street House near Loftus in West Yorkshire
as part of the process of disambiguating Loftus, North Yorkshire and Loftus, New South Wales, both of which definately exist.
However I can find no reference to a Loftus in West Yorkshire in either Google, or the Ordnance Survey's usually reliable placename gazeteer.
So I'm wonder if this is an error. Anybody know any better?. -- Chris j wood 12:15, 2 September 2005 (UTC)
There definitely is a Loftus, at this grid reference NZ7118. It was in Cleveland, now North Yorkshire! Street house is to the east of this Loftus. JimChampion 01:11, 30 December 2006 (UTC)
Barrows in Denmark
editJust a note that other countries do not seem to have been mentioned. Denmark, at least seems to be littered with barrows. http://www.insula-moenia.dk/ancient.html Sandpiper 05:59, 9 May 2006 (UTC)
- Feel free to add a section about Danish long barrows! JimChampion (talk) 14:47, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
Long barrows in Russia
editI've moved the sentence about Birger Nerman's excavations of Russian long barrows to a new section, as it is not really appropriate in the opening paragraph of the article. JimChampion (talk) 14:47, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
List of Long Burrows
editWe have a list of long burrows in Wales here. Is there an equivalent in Scotland, England and Ireland? Let's build one up, if not - a long one! Llywelyn2000 (talk) 07:01, 20 March 2012 (UTC)
