Year of entry into service edit

The article infobox states that the year of entry into service is 1903. It should be clearly wrong, because the stock entered service when the Central line first opened in 1900, and is designated as 1900 Stock except for the driving motors which are designated 1903 Stock. London Underground stock is classified according to the planned entry into service, not the actual entry (this is why the 1996 Tube Stock predates the 1995 stock). But instead of repeatedly adding unsourced information, why not find a WP:RS that supports your claim? --Redrose64 🌹 (talk) 13:06, 18 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

@Redrose64: From Central line (London Underground):

When the railway opened in 1900, it was operated by electric locomotives hauling carriages with passengers boarding via lattice gates at each end. The locomotives had a large unsprung mass, which caused vibrations that could be felt in the buildings above the route. After an investigation by the Board of Trade, by 1903 the carriages had been adapted to run as trailers and formed with new motor cars into electric multiple units.
