50 Classic Ski Descents of North America is actually titled Fifty Classic Ski Descents of North America. In addition to first hand descriptions of many of the rare descents by the 13 key contributors it features the remarkable photography of 55 ski mountaineering photographers. These visual chroniclers have shaped the evolution of pure human powered explorations in rarely visited geographic locations, many of which are seldom skied sucessfully or repeated due to their remoteness and difficulty. These two attributes continue to make some portions of the book special in the minds of core, dedicated ski mountaineers. The book has increased enthusiasm for a somewhat misunderstood sport. Most of the contributors operate apart from media coverage, popular adventure film making and the free skiing movement commonly seen in the trending mainstream of social media. Most of the contributors participate and develop their skills with quiet perseverance and without popular fanfare. This makes the book more credible in the minds of higher level ski mountaineers. Here is a list of photographers who should be acknowledged as the book speaks volumes via its imagery and authenticity. The list includes notable ski historians, leaders in modern ski mountaineering explorations and fist ski descents who's accomplishments have not been or are rarely duplicated. Abegg, Steph. Indeed it would be proper for the article to be moved to start with the word "Fifty" rather than "50", if the article is kept as an article about the book. --Doncram (talk) 22:29, 4 February 2021 (UTC)

table of North American ski descents

I'm starting a table here now, to be developed with notes and hopefully with coordinates of start-, end-, and multiple mid-point locations of specific ski runs. For now may just get coordinates of the mountain tops, or of points somewhere on the mountains, without my having knowledge of exact runs.
