Polish Wikipedia edit

Polish wikipedia has an article about Capital Punishment in Alabama

Thirty-One edit

I tried to eliminate the need for a sum in the article text because it would be easy to forget to change that when more people are added to the list. (I assume more people will be added to the list, but wouldn't it be great if it stopped here?).

Also, I was planning to go ahead and add the ones listed by AL-DOC prior to 1983. Dystopos 20:38, 2 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Though most online sources have John Evan's execution for the murder of "Edward Nassa" (sic) and Wayne Ritter's for "Edward Nassar", they were in fact partners in crime and the correct name is Nassar. I'll try to get a citation at the Birmingham library archives this week. Dystopos 20:56, 2 May 2005 (UTC)Reply

Memorials edit

Remembering the victims of violent crime is an honorable activity, but it is not itself encyclopedic. (Wikipedia is not a memorial). The List of individuals executed in Alabama is not the place to create a directory of these memorials, even as external links. A single link to a directory of such memorials could be appropriate here. Any of the victims that meet the criteria of WP:BIO should, of course, have their own articles. We have articles for most of the 50 states at Category:Lists of people who were executed. Personally I think there is nothing wrong with these lists. Also in the case of Alabama, this information is not actually presented anywhere that includes the victims. Evil MonkeyHello 03:05, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
The above comment was in reference to external links to victim's memorial pages that were added to this article and have since been deleted. Dystopos 04:58, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply

table edit

Is there a guideline or policy that prefers using the table format? What are the precedents? To me, the list format was more compact and easier to read and edit. Dystopos 17:15, 23 August 2005 (UTC)Reply

To me a table is much easier to read. Instead of having 34 sentences that all read the same:
"Joe Blogs, executed Day Month, Year, by Method, for the murder of List of names"
We have a table that presents the information will be looking for on this page. Evil MonkeyHello 03:01, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
I see the precedents now. I stand by the statement that the list format was more compact and much easier to read and edit. But I won't start undoing the hard work of others just to satisfy my preference. Dystopos 05:00, 24 September 2005 (UTC)Reply
