Indexing Code System edit

Is there any indexing code system for municipalities in Angola, like IBGE for Brazil, FIPS for United States, INEGI for Mexico, LGA for Australia, etc.? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Nitrofurano (talkcontribs) 10:52, 21 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

It does exist and a record is kept up to date by the National Institute of Statistics (INE-Instituto Nacional De Estatísticas) but it is difficult to get the latest codes online. Best would be to go there personally... 197.234.120.14 (talk) 07:56, 24 May 2023 (UTC)Reply

Naming edit

I suggest to name all municipalities in the format "X Municipality", like the provinces. See also WP:NC:CS. TopoCode (talk) 19:13, 14 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Amboim != Porto Amboim edit

Attention Amboim must not be redirected to Porto Amboim! Amboim is the name of the Município whose main town is Gabela (Angola). --Hedorfer (talk) 14:32, 8 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Town councils vs. municipalities edit

From the map at "Projecto Terra – FAO Angola GCP/ANG/045/SPA" (PDF). FAO. 2011. page 2, it appears that there are thirty-six municipalities in Bié Province, but only 9 town councils. However, that same page shows all eleven of the municipalities of Huambo Province, even if it only names four. Should we list all thirty-six of Bié's municipalities? --Bejnar (talk) 05:18, 27 April 2014 (UTC)Reply
