L. Allen y R.L. Allen edit

in your article you have both as same people. Is it right? There is another american astronomer named Leah Allen. The 2 asteroids from L. Allen are from Mauna Kea (2004) and the R.L.Alen's asteroid (2001) in Kitt Peak Observatory. May be both are different people?--Rwheimle (talk) 08:01, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply

I don't think it can be Leah Allen, as he died decades before the discoveries were made. This source mentions "(Rhiannon) Lynne Allen" with a parenthesis, which is somewhat suggestive. Rfassbind – talk 23:28, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

Revert removal of last table column (Class icons) edit

Frietjes, I have reverted your edit which removed the class-icon columns from the table(s). I desperately need these as a reference for the revision of the corresponding articles on minor-planet discoverers, and for the upcoming overall revision of minor-planet discovering observatories. So may I please ask you to hold back on your structural changes until this revision is accomplished? Thank you, Rfassbind – talk 23:28, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

User:Rfassbind, see here, the general consensus is that class icons don't belong in article space. Is there a reason why you can't copy this into project/user space for reference there? Why does it need to be in the article? Frietjes (talk) 23:31, 13 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I followed the link you provided in your edit comment, and I read the discussion you had with another editor (you think that the class-icon column is odd and does not belong in wiki's main space). I acknowledge that and I'm not against any changes based on consensus/guidelines of course. Actually, I already have a "discoverer" table" in my userspace. But said revision is enormous and will take months, which will pose problems consolidating data with the "live-version" in the main-space. I also created an external tool which depend on parts of the table you removed (i.e. "#R" in dropdown). This basically sabotages the ongoing revision on astronomer biographies/discovery-lists as well as the upcoming revision on observatories. Wouldn't it be better to wait a few months and then discuss any changes to the table structure? I would really appreciate that. Rfassbind – talk 00:25, 14 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
Frietjes, the proposed removal of all class icons is now under way. Apologies that it took so long (seems to be exactly one year). Rfassbind – talk 12:02, 14 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
