Lt. Governor numbering, Mona Pasquil, table formatting edit

I added the missing 47th Lt. Governor to List of lieutenant governors of California: Mona Pasquil, who was Acting between shortly after Garamendi's resignation and Maldonado's confirmation. (See [1], page 6.) This explains why Newsom's own website calls him the 49th: [2]. However, I am very poor at wikitables, at least once things like rowspan start getting used. Can someone who knows their way around wikitables please confirm I didn't muck anything up in the formatting, and correct as needed? Thanks. TJRC (talk) 23:19, 17 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks man! You found the missing Lt. Governor. Good investigative work! - Shaian Shaianisreal —Preceding undated comment added 02:53, 21 January 2011 (UTC).Reply

A similar request for help if I messed anything up. I added Arthur Breed, who served as Lt. Governor from 1917-1919 (a date range which had previously been left blank on this chart. The explanation for his tenure can be found here: [3] Justvote (talk) 22:51, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Correction needed on table edit

I don't know quite how to do this myself, but the table lists Lt. Gov. Abel Maldonado as having served under Gov. Jerry Brown. In reality, he served under Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger. His term expired at the same time Schwarzenegger's did. It would be nice if someone could correct this. Circumspect (talk) 06:01, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Good catch. I will try to address this if I get some spare time this weekend; my wikitable-fu is merely adequate, and this will take some trial and error. Note that technically, Maldonodo served under both Schwarzenegger and Brown. Brown took office on January 3, and Maldonado remained Lt.Gov under Brown for one week until Newsom took office on January 10. TJRC (talk) 17:07, 25 February 2012 (UTC)Reply

Sorry to do this to you guys, but Abel actually did serve into Jerry Brown's term as Governor. Newsom didn't assume office at the beginning of his term, but waited a week to continue working on city issues before resigning as Mayor. So technically, Abel remained in office past the end of his elected term. Justvote (talk) 22:49, 10 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Move discussion in progress edit

There is a move discussion in progress on Talk:Lieutenant governor of Georgia which affects this page. Please participate on that page and not in this talk page section. Thank you. —RMCD bot 21:15, 1 April 2013 (UTC)Reply

Need help from someone good with the table syntax, entry for Leo T. McCarthy edit

Leo T. McCarthy was a Democrat and should be blue. Until yesterday, he was listed as Republican and pink. An IP user made a series of edits that appeared to be vandalism, but was actually a bit of a floundering good faith attempt to correct that (see the conversation "Leo T Mccarthy" on my talk page).

OK, I've gone in and corrected both McCarthy's party affiliation listing to Democrat and his color to Democratic blue. But there are still two issues to be addressed, and after making a few attempts in preview, I'm finding my skills with tables are not good enough to address this.

  • The table correctly shows McCarthy having served under Deukmejian; but Deukmejian was Republican and should be pink background. Previously the whole row was pink (when McCarthy was erroneously indicated as Republican; now the whole row is blue (erroneously indicating Deukmejian as Democrat). Even looking at the other row examples, I can't get Deukmejian's background in pink.
  • McCarthy actually served (1/1983-1/1995) as Lt. Governor under two Governors: Deukmejian (1/1983-1/1991) and Wilson (1/1991-1/1995, -1/1999). Wilson's box should span the rows for both McCarthy and Davis.

If someone understands tables well enough to make these changes, I would appreciate it. TJRC (talk) 18:43, 11 April 2015 (UTC)Reply

Suggestion: Merge list into CA Lt. Gov page edit

This information would be useful on the main page as a section — Preceding unsigned comment added by Seagullimperial (talkcontribs) 22:02, 5 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
