For the past couple of months I have updated the Main Page of "list of law clerks of the Supreme Court of the United States." Many more law clerks have been added to the list, and many corrections and edits made to clerk names (middle initials, full names), law schools, graduation dates and prior clerkships. I am now copying and pasting the new material onto each Seat page. To save time, I am bulk copying and pasting the new material. I first scan the Seat page to determine if there is any data there that is not on the Main Page. Also, added a pic of Byron White, clerked for CJ Vinson, to the top of the page. Finally, I removed the Wiki warnings at the top of the page for "needs citations" and "this page is incomplete."Bjhillis (talk) 17:53, 14 October 2016 (UTC)Reply
Hi - I've been doing some research about Supreme Court Law Clerks and found these Wikipedia Lists very interesting.
Thing is, I have a question about the accuracy of the list - not that I'm doubting that you've posted info in good faith - but, due to my research, I've found that the S.Ct. does not generally make the Justices' Law Clerks names publically available.
So, before relying on this page's info further, I wanted to inquire as to your source(s) for the info.
Lots of sources for the clerks! Some books and law review articles have lists; archives of justices' papers list clerks; lots of law school pages listing clerks from their school...see various notes to the main clerks page under talk Archives 1-3. Thw Wikipedia list is the most comprehensive.38.117.232.138 (talk) 38.117.232.138 (talk) 16:29, 15 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
@AVROOM: Peppers' 2006 book Courtiers of the Marble Palace mentions that he managed to get a list from the US Supreme Court Public Information Office that included the names of clerks from 1886 to 2004, their initial term, justices they clerked for, and previous lower court clerkships. As far as I can tell, this list has not been published online. gobonobo+c 15:00, 30 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
