Sammie Davis, Jr. an unarmed man who was shot and killed by police Clayton Sutton here in Macon, Georgia. I was reading the account of my brother's death on Wikipedia and I need to let you know that this is totally incorrect.

Mr. Davis was not armed. He at no point had a weapon and the area where he was killed was right in front of the store, if he had a weapon it would have been found there at the scene and based on the reports I have from the Macon Police Investigation and the GBI Investigation he was uarmed. He had no criminal background. He was a fixture at that Kroger. It was a community store with benches outside so that people could sit there and eat or wait while family members shopped.

Sammie sat there everyday eating chips and drinking Big K soda and yes asking for spare change.

He was well liked and welcome at that Kroger. He went there everyday and citizens, customers and store employees loved him. I was called by Kroger management moments after he was shot to tell me that something bad had happened as I had introduced myself to them and asked if he was a problem. I gave them my phone number and address and asked them to get in touch with me if he was ever a problem. No one at Kroger felt any fear or distrust toward him. He was never told to leave Kroger.

On the day he was killed, He approached and elderly white woman before she went into the store and when she came out. According to GBI reports - He asked her for a dollar. She gave it to him. She put her packages in her car, got into the car, locked the door, drove off and called 911.

She reported that a big black man was asking for change. Dispatch asked for a response and sent a unit to the scene. Clayton Sutton intercepted the call and went there because he was familiar with the area and my brother. The precinct is two or three doors down from Kroger. Sammie passes directly in front of that precinct on his way to and from Kroger

Sutton shot Junior while his hands were up in the air. There are many witnesses who've given the police this account, but they say that Sammie attacked an armed policeman because of his mental condition. Clayton Sutton has been written up 27 times for various infractions and bullying many of the people he is supposed to protect and serve. Shortly before he killed my brother, his wife took out a restraining order against him and fled from Houston County Georgia to Dodge county George to get away from him. Numerous people can give accounts of his bad unprofessional behavior. Junebug on the other hand had lived 49 years without ever being arrested or being confronted with the law.

Assistant police chief Carswell came to see me after the DA ruled that the killer was justified in shooting an unarmed man and said to me that another police officer had remarked "All he had to do was tell Junebug to go home and he would have."

They knew (police) Junebug wasn't a threat to anyone.
