Sources make Wikipedia credible

Hi, List articles can be a problem in Wikipedia. They just keep growing as editors add examples, and the quality control suffers. A list of "notable" albums can grow to include every editor's favorite albums-some of which are minor, little-known discs that did not become notable in the eyes of critics. As well, list articles can get vandalized by joke additions....without sources, these silly additions may stay in for months. If Wikipedia is going to be credible as a reference source, there has to be standards. One of the standards set out in the Wikipedia guidelines is the use of sources. For this list to be credible, I propose that every album in this list should be sourced to a reputable music journalist, music magazine review, or music encyclopedia. This way, if editor John Doe wants to put an album by his favorite fusion band ZZZ, a group with an album that got 2/5 stars in Downbeat, and which was called "repetitive and derivative" by a major reviewer, we can remove it.....................................................................Are there list articles where EVERY example is sourced? Are you kidding me? music journalists? if you want this to be serious we can't refference to music critic. they have mostly no idea what they're talking about. Its just personal opinions, nothing objective. • This does need some referencing. For one thing, it appears that once one album is being included, the artist's subsequent albums, outtakes etc get piled in too. Some kind of inclusion criterion is needed. This could be individual referencing to justify an entry's inclusion. Or alternatively, the jazz-fusion albums in List of Core Collection albums in The Penguin Guide to Jazz and/or List of Crown albums in The Penguin Guide to Jazz could be used to prune this list? But these are probably too severe on the genre; for example Weather Report would be reduced to Mysterious Traveller. Or can someone suggest some other source for that role?
