As I noted when this page was a draft, it's something of a mess. That hasn't changed with the current revision. There's redundancy, with the Brown Bess and the Charleville musket covered twice each. Various entries - pistols, carbines, cannon - are not infantry weapons at all but cavalry or artillery weapons. The bayonet image is an anachronism that shows a Dutch bayonet of the 1890s. I'll try to fix those issues, but that will result in a drastical shortening of the list. Furthermore, sources often are weak, such as commercial websites of replica manufacturers, particularly for a topic I'd assume is extremely well-covered, presumably with multiple books focusing exclusively on Revolutionary War equipment. I have removed the anachronistic images and the non-infantry weapons. I've also rewritten the "American rifles" part based on published books instead of random websites. The same treatment would be necessary for the other sections. Furthermore, the article will need to be moved to either List of infantry weapons of the American Revolutionary War (in analogy with, say, List of infantry weapons of World War I) or to Infantry weapons of the American Revolutionary War if we add a general introduction and de-listify it. I wonder whether it would be beneficial to expand it into a more general article on infantry weapons of the late 18th century and the Napoleonic wars. Expert attention would definitely help. Under American Made Muskets, there's a random entry about the speed of loading during the period. Although this is true, I don't see how it fits in this section, and rate of fire affected all muzzleloaders. If one were contrasting muskets to rifles (rifles being somewhat slower), then that would make sense. It's simply out of place. I'll remove it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 205.173.105.205 (talk) 15:32, 11 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
