Franchises

Stop removing the franchises they are all part of the same franchise and films series just see the charts on List of highest-grossing films witch included the 78 LOTR film and List of highest-grossing musicals witch includeds B&TB, Aladdin and the jungle book franchises Fan Of Lion King 🦁 (talk) 07:47, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

The List of highest-grossing films has included the 1978 animated Lord of the Rings film because that chart lists franchises and film series. This chart does not list franchises, only film series. As per the definition of film series used, the 1978 animated film is not related to the live-action films, so it is not included. Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Jungle Book can be included provided they qualify as film series where all films listed are related to each other. ~Rajan51 (talk) 10:04, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

The Harry Potter film series and the Fantastic Beasts film series are both set in the same fictional universe and related to each other. Hence they can be considered as a single film series. The same can be said about The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit film trilogies directed by Peter Jackson. While in both cases, the individual series themselves do qualify as their own film series, we are not listing them separately apart from their larger film series to avoid redundancies in the list. ~Rajan51 (talk) 11:06, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

It is part of the same franchise, but it is not part of the same film series as it is not related to the other films in the Middle-earth series. Since this chart lists only film series, it is not listed here, which is explained in a note in the chart too. ~Rajan51 (talk) 14:49, 10 June 2021 (UTC)

2. You can not cherry pick film series witch only you like

3. I said why not both then we you said no to

4. You were already told about it it on another talk page

I have already given the reasons for this:

1. There is no rule which states that other similar pages following a specific format means this page needs to follow the same format.

2. I am not cherry picking anything. It's about following the definition used.

3. Listing both would cause a redundancy as I have mentioned above. What is the reason for listing both?

4. The discussion on that talk page was about franchises and film series, which is not related to this page as this page lists only film series as per the given definition

5. There is no reason to change from the current system
