>>> Can someone add http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2011_K%C3%BCtahya_earthquake this to the table? I think it's notable for causing 4 deaths and 5.9 isn't small either. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.102.54.75 (talk) 08:12, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

It's already there, the last one in the list. Mikenorton (talk) 09:49, 20 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Some missing earthquakes edit

While reviewing articles on churches & mosques of Constantinople/Istanbul, I found that a number of earthquakes that had caused serious structural damage (which implies, by definition, a Richter Scale value of at least a 6.0) which were not listed in this scale. I'm not adding them to the article for lack of information, but listing them here for someone to research, determine whether they are worth adding, & perhaps even create an article about them.

Date Structure damaged
740 Hagia Irene
8 January 869 Hagia Sophia
25 October 989 Hagia Sophia
October 1344 Hagia Sophia (led to partial collapse of dome in 1346)
1557 Fatih Mosque, Istanbul
1648 Little Hagia Sophia
1754 Fatih Mosque, Istanbul
1763 Little Hagia Sophia
22 May 1766 Fatih Mosque, Istanbul

Here are two lists of historical earthquakes in Turkey The NOAA list & the list from Boğaziçi University, which cover most of the earthquakes that you mention, apart from the 989 and 1763 events. Mikenorton (talk) 08:08, 15 April 2015 (UTC)Reply
