Talk:List of districts, municipalities and sections in Cambodia

Notes edit

Does anyone know if the location codes used here match with the administrative codes used in Cambodia (from the Census)? Paxse

Yes old chap - I know. They don't match the census codes but they seem to be different only by a small degree. so where did these strange numbers come from? And are they really necessary to the article? Paxse 16:13, 22 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Capitalization of "district", "municipality", "section", etc. edit

Some (most?) articles are titled with "District" and others "district". The capitalized form is against WP:NCCAPS unless "District" is actually part of the formal name of the area which does not seem to be the case. But the bigger problem is the lack of consistency, unless some districts have "District" in their names and others do not. Some provinces seem to have more capitalized district article titles and others more lower-case. The same issue is present with municipalities and sections.

I'm considering moving all the Cambodian district, municipality and section articles to have consistent capitalization but this would involve many moves. Perhaps a formal Wikipedia proposal process is appropriate but, before then, could someone please explain whether or not there is an argument against a consistent use of capitals or lower case here? Are there official Cambodian documents in English showing different practices amongst the different districts? (The appearance of a capitalised "District" in document headings is not conclusive because many document use a title case style calling for more capitalization than the Wikipedia standard.)
