Removal of Eagle, Idaho velodrome edit

I'm fairly certain this velodrome is dead in the water and is just a bunch of mountain bike trails. The citation seems to reflect this. Delete? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.164.159.94 (talk) 04:03, 17 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Saffron Lane edit

The date of 1978 given is misleading. The track itself was rebuilt in wood in that year, but the facility on that site predates it, being used inter alia for the 1974 Worlds. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.142.243 (talk) 13:24, 4 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Recent addition of coordinates edit

Recently someone attempted to add coordinates for every velodrome. And while only a small fraction of the countries have been added as of now, it has already added a considerable amount of bloat to the list (in both width and page size (+20KB)).

Do we really need all that in here? That info is readily available in the articles themselves. --CyberXRef 17:03, 8 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Intent and use of this list edit

It is my intent that each velodrome on this list have an accompanying page that allows a complete description of the track, its history, current use and planned future (all verifiable with references). Until that time, a verfiable location is being added. Currently there are links to pages that are incorrect, such as Packer Park in Australia leads to a link for Packer Park, Philadelphia, a neighborhood region without any reference to cycling whatsoever. As to any thought of "bloat", this will be reduced when editors create pages for velodromes and remove data from this list that is better suited on the track page itself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by RussellBetteridge (talkcontribs) 15:13, 15 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Wrong link edit

There is a link to Welkom, South Africa. Could someone who knows which is it change it to Welkom (Free State) or Welkom, Northern Cape, which has incoming links. Thanks, Boleyn (talk) 10:13, 30 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Velodromes no longer in use edit

Not sure if the list contains demolished or repurposed velodromes; Stadion Koturaška was a velodrome — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.149.62.247 (talk) 09:26, 19 January 2019 (UTC)Reply

There was an outdoor track at Ordrup, on the northern edge of Copenhagen, which seems to have been used for the Worlds in 1956. Don't know whether it's still there, but it was still in use in 1993. Mr Larrington (talk) 17:57, 23 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Hungary under cover. edit

Budapest, Hungary now has an indoor (permanent tent covered) 200-meter, wooden track velodrome for practice and small-scale races.
