Talk:List of aircraft of Argentine Naval Aviation

Scope unclear edit

Is this list to include only "historical" aircraft, or also those (currently?) in service? In the second case, some duplication might exist with the inventory in Argentine Naval Aviation, which could raise issues in keeping it up-to-date. Please clarify the proposed scope.

There would not be issues because COAN is supposed to list current inventory and here we have total received, e.g. 14 Sue here and 11 on COAN. This page is supposed to be updated only when new aiframes arrived , no very often. Perhaps a clarification on the lead might be in place. Having all here would be very handly per the column sort featured . --Jor70 (talk) 13:22, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Totally agree and support. Now I'd go to sleep! Cheers, DPdH (talk) 13:50, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Normally if we have list of aircraft articles then the list in the main article is not needed as it is just duplicated. MilborneOne (talk) 19:18, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
do you mean would be ok to completely remove the list AT COAN if we add a new column 'current' here ? --Jor70 (talk) 19:30, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
It may be better to have a summary on the main article and have a current table and a historic table here - see what others think. MilborneOne (talk) 19:49, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
I support whichever option that avoids duplication of info and eases maintenance without reducing ease of accesibility to current info. Maybe just a summary in main article would be good, now which info would that include? Regards, DPdH (talk) 02:37, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Table structure edit

I think that the original table structure used in Argentine Naval Aviation is good, and the ones in this list should have a similar one (maybe with additional columns if needed). It might facilitate maintenance of both articles. Does anyone disagree?

I will try to clean the data a bit first, as we said, this list did not contain the same data than COAN article. Anyway, the notes column is starting to be confuse, is not sorteable in this way: I think should not contain any data that is already on the aircraft article --Jor70 (talk) 19:28, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
OK, go ahead and please let me know when ready so can I proceed with my task. Cheers, DPdH (talk) 02:43, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Serials edit

It is not normal pactice to list aircraft serials except for notable aircraft so I would say that column is not needed. MilborneOne (talk) 19:19, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unless is explicity prohibited I will like to maintain the column just in this article, will only be a range not serials ifself and It will be very useful with the sort featured. Anyway, this is not like the USN or UK where you have thousands of planes , will be (I think) at least 20 rows on this table, in fact, the serials could help us a lot in the creation of the list --Jor70 (talk) 19:26, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Sorry but serials should not really be added, the consensus so far is they are not included unless notable for some reason. MilborneOne (talk) 19:45, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hi, just for my understanding, can you please point where this issue was agreed? Thanks & kind regards, DPdH (talk) 02:57, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Wikipedia:WikiProject Aviation/Registrations has some guidance on the issue. MilborneOne (talk) 18:18, 16 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Design and Origin edit

It is usual to to show the source flag under Origin and Design is not normally used. If the source is unusual it can be added to the notes. MilborneOne (talk) 19:45, 10 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Images missing edit

To balance a bit the amount of text in this article, I'll add images of each aircraft listed in Argentine Naval Aviation colors to give the reader a better idea of how each aircraft looked like when in service. For this I'll add a column for the image, similar to other lists (e.g.: the inventory table in the Argentine Air Force wikiarticle). I expect that the column initially will have several gaps, as not all the aircraft used by the Argentine Naval Aviation have a PD image in "Commons". This job will take me a couple weeks, best efforts. Regards, DPdH (talk) 01:33, 18 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

Article expansion edit

I'm expanding this article with two online sources (lists in "Instituto Aeronaval" and "Histarmar"), complemented with bibliography at hand. Where details differ will make a note. I expect to have listed all documented aircraft operated by this service when I finish my work (in about 1 week from now). Regards, DPdH (talk) 21:22, 7 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
