Talk:List of abbreviations used in sanitation

Greek letters? edit

Question - where should μ go in a list? I don't know how to list Greek letters in an English alphabetical list. JMWt (talk) 12:41, 3 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

I asked myself the same question and had decided to put it under m as it stands for micro? EvM-Susana (talk) 17:04, 3 June 2015 (UTC)Reply

Adding names of large and small organisations? edit

My proposal is that we do NOT include the names of NGOs and companies in this list. However, I would suggest to include the large government organizations that do work on the WASH sector, like UNDP, DfID and similar. What do others thing about this? EMsmile (talk) 00:06, 19 March 2017 (UTC)Reply

As a reader, I expected to see only sanitation terms and NO organizations at all. I added in RVO when I saw DfID there, but as I think about it I'd rather see only sanitation terms.
An alternative: create a totally separate list where all organizations are lumped together. banks, aid organizations, large NGOs as long as they are somewhat known as funders or champions of sanitation.PlanetCare (talk) 04:46, 20 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
I don't think it hurts to have a few of the larger organizations listed there. Basically if someone reads a forum post or some document or website and there is an accronym they don't know, they could consult this list. If there was a second list to consult that would make it more cumbersome, I think. And I don't think we have to be resonsible for putting "all" in ("all or nothing"). After all if someone has a term that is not in the list but should be, they are free to add it. - One thing I would like to think about is how to make this article better known or easier to find (I have added a redirect from "acronyms for sanitation" now.
