Special episode? edit

Does anyone know if the special episode will ever be dubbed by 4Kids Entertainment? 219.137.141.157 (talk) 12:47, 22 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I wish that they would dub the episode, but sorry no. The sad thing is the the US won't be dubbing this episode. So I guess that if you want to understand it, you have to find a properly SUBBED version of the video online. 68.6.148.3 (talk) 23:21, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Season 2 edit

Season 2 begins at episode 27. The show uses a new opening and ending, new seasons generally begin in October in Japan, and Janime - one of the sources we're using for this page - agrees: http://www.janime.info/5DS/anime2.html. For the Japanese version. Plus 4Kids is going on a break after 26 too yet.

So can we just put the season division in now? Mumbo230 (talk) 03:11, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

It isn't a new season, it's a new arc. And since when did they say they'll go on a break from dubbing 5D's? PokéyxKz (talk) 19:39, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
New arc does nto mean new season so will yugioh gx and so get broe up into 14 seasons? and new epsiod econtunie after then.--Andrewcrawford (talk) 19:52, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Also janiome isnt a realible source under wikipedia guidelines so unless you find sometihng else and nt 4kids ie japanese thenit willr emain the current format--Andrewcrawford (talk) 19:53, 6 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
It's not just a new arc. First of all, if Janime isn't reliable, why are we using their episode title translations? Double standard much?
Second of all, TV.com lists Season 2 as starting at 27: http://www.tv.com/yu-gi-oh!-5ds/show/75362/episode_guide.html?season=2
Third of all, TVIV agrees as well: http://tviv.org/Yu-Gi-Oh!_5D's
Fourth of all, IT HAS A NEW OPENING AND ENDING BEGINNING AT 27. Notice that GX only changing openings and endings at the beginning of a new season as well.
The proof is there, it's a new season. You're going going to have to show some proof that contradicts what I'm saying, because if you refuse this evidence I'm giving without presenting some of your own, it's just stubbornness. What will it take to convince you? The show's writers showing up here?
And speaking of arc divisions, why isn't this list divided by arc? The pages for the original Yu-Gi-Oh! series and GX both do it.
And yes 4Kids is taking a break after 26, check Toon Zone, Zap2it, or any of the other online schedules FYI, not that it really matters.Mumbo230 (talk) 20:34, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Just because someone is using the translation names does not mean it is acceptable janime isnt a realaible source full stop. it also says the production code is 127 which means it seaosn 1 episode 27 so unless there a japanese source which is relaible ie the produce or tv company then it has to stay the same,--Andrewcrawford (talk) 20:40, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
There's no official source from the producer or TV company for the season divisions in GX either, so by that logic they should just be all one list.
Seriously I don't see what the big problem is here. It's just a matter of applying logic.
I hope you're not getting the concepts of "series" and "seasons" mixed up, just because Season 2 of 5D's doesn't have a new subtitle doesn't mean it isn't a separate season.Mumbo230 (talk) 22:05, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Because you dnt seem to get wikipedia, wikipedia isnt a fan site, its a encloypedia, and as such everything has to be verifyable and since the source janime isnt relible and 4kids gives two bits of information one saysing a second season and the other saying all one season then we cant just split it on that information we need more sources, if you provide them then yes we can split it but we will then also have to expand the lead in section to say what is happening and provide the sources to the split.--Andrewcrawford (talk) 23:11, 8 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
I know what Wikipedia is. I've been here for years. Don't talk down to me like that. I have provided sources. You're just running on a different set of standards than any other page.
I pointed out the GX page. Does it have sources from the TV company that Season 1 ends at episode 52 and Season 2 begins at episode 53? No, because it's common knowledge. Just like as I have pointed out that multiple places are stating that Season 2 begins at episode 27. And I've pointed out the circumstantial evidence that it uses a new opening and ending. Any other episode page would have allowed this change based on this evidence. I gave you three sources, why isn't that enough? And this season division has nothing to do with 4Kids at all. And those production numbers on TV.com mean nothing, the 1XX format is used no matter what season a show is on, just look at Viva Pinata, Chaotic, and Kirby.
Seriously, this is a page for TV episodes. Janime is reliable in this case. It doesn't make stuff up. The point of the site is for informational purposes. All of their stuff posted on there can be confirmed. And we're using it as a source for this page for God's sake, why are we allowed to use it as a source for some things and not others, especially something like this?
I'm trying to make this page consistent with the GX one, because the GX page is actually done reasonably.
Why would you need to expand the lead-in anyway? We're just making season divisions, no other page accounts for that. You're making up rules here. I could show you a million sources and you just wouldn't accept them. I don't get why you think the sources I gave would feel the need to lie about something like this.
You have yet to give me a reasonable answer as to why we can't put the season division in there. It's not so much a case of not positing unverified information as it is of ignoring what is plainly apparent.Mumbo230 (talk) 07:00, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
You can put the arc division in that is fine but season division there is not enough sources that are realible to do it. i a not making up rules go look at naruto page. and the gx page was done by me then tided up by the anime and manga porject. i am not trying to make thigns up i am following the rules and unfortnaly that is waht the rules say if we went your way then dinosaur king would be in 3 season which it iaint. i apogolise i was not trying to talk down to you it jsut seemed that you where a editor who was not aware of wikipedia rules like i was just over a year ago--Andrewcrawford (talk) 09:03, 9 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Okay, I put in the arc divisions, if they're not quite right feel free to correct them.
Sorry if I came off a bit harsh, we'll play the season division thing by ear for now then I guess.Mumbo230 (talk) 00:52, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Okay, in what may seem like beating a dead horse, I did some digging around the style guide for episode lists in the Anime and Manga Project and found this:
"Occasionally, when dealing with a very long series, you may wish to break the list up into separate sublists. When doing so, the list should be broken at season breaks. These can be hard to determine for anime series; a good source for them is Japanese or English season box sets if any have been released; otherwise, other good indicators include opening and closing theme song changes or, failing all else, just breaking the list up into chunks of approximately 26 episodes."
So is the change of opening and ending at episode 27 enough grounds to break it up into second seasons now?Mumbo230 (talk) 19:47, 10 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes and no, there one propblem with this 4kids make ther eown opening and ending credits so we need a japanese source to say yes episode 27 was a new opening in japanese, but breaking the list up is to do with wp:verylong
The new opening and ending starting at 27 is already proven near the top of this page, there's a Japanese source from the bands who performed them for each of them. We don't need to source them a second time. Anime News Network and a bunch of other places can corroborate it too. So no problem there with proving that's where the new opening and ending start. We don't know yet if 4Kids will do a new opening at episode 27 (probably not) but that doesn't matter either way.
WP:Very Long and article size guidelines have to do with breaking the article into multiple pages, which isn't what we're doing here, it's just season breaks in an episode list. And I think a series with more than 50 episodes - and it's got a ways to go yet - qualifies as long, I'm not entirely sure on that though.Mumbo230 (talk) 02:30, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Provide a source to say that is when it changfes and then yes put a seaosn break in if oyu provide the source, without sources then it isnt verifyable and that is wikiupedia requires--Andrewcrawford (talk) 08:36, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
The sources are http://www.barks.jp/news/?id=1000043570 and http://web.pscompany.co.jp/alicenine/top.html, but they're already on the page in the openings and endings section so there's no point in repeating them. http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=9404 is another source, and I'm pretty sure ANN is acceptable as it's an industry news site.
So I'll be adding the season breaks now. Again the official sources for the opening and ending starting at 27 are already on the page, so they don't have to be added again.Mumbo230 (talk) 16:38, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Well apart form the struggle ot read the japanese pages yes there all fine for sources. I wont undo the split now :) i will also when i get achnce use citiweb to link ot there for proof on the main page.--Andrewcrawford (talk) 18:48, 11 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

This can't be right! edit

Alright, I was checking up on both here and at the wikia of the episodes for Yugioh! 5Ds since the episodes are apparantly being overrun by robots with unnecesarily (sp?) big eyes. And what do I find both here and there? That the episodes after "Mark of the Monkey IV" were released a month ago in the English release! Now am I confused in saying that the english release and the 4Kids dub release are one and the same? Because if I'm wrong then please direct me to the nearest channel with newer episodes.24.162.226.125 (talk) 22:06, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well that the problem peopel think it american wikipedia it not it english wikipedia which include other english countries like uk wher ethey aired--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 23:03, 28 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I just kinda assumed that they all aired at the same time when its the same language. (other than the obvious cartoon network thing, they're ALWAYS behind on airing stuff) But seriously, is there a site you can direct me to? Or is the dub different and will I be mercilessly confused if you do?24.162.232.67 (talk) 14:20, 3 October 2009 (UTC)Same guy, different computer :PReply
I believe the the confusion over release dates for the English version was that some of the episodes aired weekdays on CiTV, a British channel, eventually overpassing the US debut.
Concerning the list of English airdates, why can't we put a country indicator behind the date. Other wikipedia pages do this. Pokemon even puts in separate columns for USA and UK airdates, extra columns are too much, there are simpler ways to do this. I know that after ep 49 "Mark of the Monkey part 3" the US airdate and the date listed are not even close, so I would propose putting all new english airdates that are known with a flag   beside the date or even just a (UK), (US), (CAN) or (AUS) for whereever it aired for the first time on that date. The reason being, if I am in Canada I don't care when it first aired in the UK, I care more about when it aired in my market so I will know if I missed any eps and when I missed them. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.136.26.13 (talk) 15:29, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply
Per MOS:FLAG, flag icons assert undue national emphases on the information and are discourage. Also, not all national flags are widely recognizable and there are usability issues involved as well. Simply because they may exist on other lists doesn't mean that using flag icons is not an issue. —Farix (t | c) 18:24, 12 August 2010 (UTC)Reply

HELP!! edit

Someone please fix the format for the season 2 box, since when another user and I added information to an episode's missing summary, just check out the page to see how bad it turned out. I already tried fixing the problem, but to no avail!! So someone please help out here. It's making me feel bad just standing there and being unable to do something about a problem that shouldn't even be there. If you are confused about theis problem, please contact me on my talk page so that I may clearify the sigificance of the problem for you. Thanks. 68.6.148.3 (talk) 21:58, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Guess what? I actually figured out how to fix the problem all on my own. All I had to do was delete the annoying marks that someone added at the end of the Season 2, and the Season 4 section, and then I fixed the format. Finally! 68.6.149.218 (talk) 23:18, 9 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Season 4? edit

A user told me that the Clash at Crash Town Part 2 episode was the season finale for Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's: Road to Destiny (Season 3). Is this true? If it is, then what is the new English dub title for the new, Season 4? If there really is a season 4, then please help, by relocating all the "Season 4" information to the new List of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's episodes (season 4) page, in order to avoid further confusion. Please help solve this problem as soon as possible, to avoid further confusion, especially from new, inexperienced, unregistered users. (P.S, if there isn't a season 4, please make that very clear, and add the new, official air dates for the rest of the episodes.) Thank you!68.6.148.3 (talk) 19:21, 25 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

Finally someone created a new page, just when we needed one. There might also be a Season 5, but until then, we can't be sure. All we have to do now is to make things clear for people who might not understand the current format that we have adopted, and to avoid and future unneccissary conflicts between users. 68.6.149.218 (talk) 23:22, 9 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Arcs and Seasons edit

In case you couldn't tell, you can easilly tell where a season or new arc starts in the 5D's dub. 4Kids always have done 2 months between each arc, and 6 between each season, so there was 2 seasons and 4 ARCS. Also, if you go to this website http://www.4kidstv.com/yugioh5ds it shows a new threat under season 2, not season 3 and this is 4Kids who dub them. This is proof there was two seasons. 86.15.144.198 (talk) 08:00, 27 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I have also just looked and underneath season 2 it shows the season 1 episodes. It says from episode 1 to 64. Not 1 to 26. So that is more proof that there is only TWO seasons. 86.15.144.198 (talk) 08:03, 27 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

there is no realible third party source to confirm it plus i think the season come from teh japanese airing if i remmeber correctly--Andrewcrawford (talk - contrib) 09:58, 27 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

I don't at all have a clue what you just said there, and why can you not trust 4Kids? 86.15.144.198 (talk) 10:00, 27 October 2011 (UTC)Reply

Number of seasons edit

I noticed that both Crunchyroll (which has an official release of the subtitled Japanese version) and yugioh.com (the official website of the English versions of the various Yu-Gi-Oh! anime) list this show as having only 2 seasons, with the cutoff between eps 64 and 65. Should that override the old dub-based subdivision? - XBrain130 (talk) 15:05, 26 November 2023 (UTC)Reply
