This article states that it is not perfect, so why not take the time to perfect it. It needs attention all those extra squadrons not mentioned and should be. Then again, why not make new pages for those units. Good luck to whoever takes up the offer. Kevin Rutherford (talk) 01:30, 21 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Of course, one could start by pointing out that the command created in 1946 was the Air Defense Command (ADC) which didn't become the Aerospace Defense Command (ADCOM) until 1968...oh well, at least some over zealous Brit hasn't come in and change it to Aerospace Defence Command yet... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 192.158.61.140 (talk) 15:06, 9 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Speaking of perfection, what Brit came up with: "With the relative failure of the F-104A in the interceptor role, ADC units were re-equipped with the F-101B Voodoo." There were four F-104A squadrons assigned to ADC back in the late 50s - yes, the aircraft were not all-weather interceptors, but only one squadron was re-equipped with the F-101B. The other three active duty squadrons were deactivated - but far from being dumped from the air defense mission in favor of the F-101B, their aircraft were consolidated and passed onto three ADC-gained ANG units (and indeed the aircraft later returned to active ADC service in the sixties as part of the beefing up of southern air defenses following the Cuban missile crisis). So, the F-104A being replaced by the F-101B is pure BS. Indeed, Knaack's authorative history comments that the F-101B was developed to replace the variety of SUBsonic interceptors in the inventory when the F-106A took longer than expected to materialize. It's always fun to see some obscure, poorly written, and even more poorly researched British aviation rag referenced as the authoritative source of some wildly inaccurate conjecture - guess that's why the F-106 carries six missiles including the AIM-26 and that the AIR-2 was replaced with the cannon - more British mis-information...chortle, chortle. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.51.66.32 (talk) 01:32, 13 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
