Untitled edit

I removed the link to "*1001 Resources and Links for A Thousand and One Nights University of Houston" because the link is dead, unfortunately, and a Google search doesn't indicate that the site exists anywhere else. StrangeAttractor 14:28, 2 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

File:KizkulesiminiatureNusretColpan.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion edit

An image used in this article, File:KizkulesiminiatureNusretColpan.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Other speedy deletions
What should I do?

Don't panic; deletions can take a little longer at Commons than they do on Wikipedia. This gives you an opportunity to contest the deletion (although please review Commons guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.

  • If the image is non-free then you may need to upload it to Wikipedia (Commons does not allow fair use)
  • If the image isn't freely licensed and there is no fair use rationale then it cannot be uploaded or used.
  • If the image has already been deleted you may want to try Commons Undeletion Request

Non-existant "nights" stories edit

Some (fairly literate) "humourist" has been at work at some stage here - not sure if I have located all his "work" or if I haven't eliminated the odd "real" story. --Soundofmusicals (talk) 21:56, 24 January 2012 (UTC)Reply

Information in a dictionary should be exact NOT arbitrary.

Several images on this page do not correspond to the titles written under them. Another words they do not have any relationships to 1001 night story. You can not just pick a painting and put any title you want on it. These paintings were either painted based on other stories or have a title that has nothing to do with that image (example "Princess Dunyazade" is actually called "Coffee Bearer" ) The painting titled " Zumurrud and Ali Shar " is based on a poem by Byron. The painting with the name Shirin under it is titled "Enjoying Coffee".

Information in a dictionary should be exact NOT arbitrary. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.255.40.219 (talk) 12:45, 24 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

No need to get over-excited. Some joker has just added plausible-looking images. You could have removed them yourself. Paul B (talk) 13:21, 23 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
