Talk:List of Old Dunelmians

First World War

edit

Is there really a need for a list of all ODs who died in WWI? If so, then why not WWII (or other conflicts - if we're claiming that the school was founded by 1414 then there are a lot to consider...)?

Also, why does the list end at H?

I would suggest that unless the people involved have individual merit that the list be removed. Duncan (talk) 14:39, 13 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Support - nice as it is that there is a list, it is not that notable! And as Duncan says, why only WWI? (To be fair, list of ODs that died in the English Civil War may be hard to come by!) Teach46 (talk) 09:55, 25 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

refimprove

edit

I've added a refimprove template to the article since, basically, there are no sources whatseover mentioned here. All these claims for ODs need to be sourced. Please be clear, I am not doubting any of them, but each one should be sourced. Please also see WP:BLP.--Teach46 (talk) 19:54, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

I now realise that this should be Unreferenced rather than refimprove so I've changed it to that.--Teach46 (talk) 15:57, 5 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
I've now added some references so this is back to a refimprove.--Teach46 (talk) 19:05, 9 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

New entries

edit

It is taking a while, but I am gradually working through this list to reference as many of these ODs as I can. It is, however, a futile exercise if editors add new entries that are unreferenced. I shall, politely, revert such edits in future since there is little point in improving the article at one end if someone is adding problems to it. For example, I am well aware that Fergus Bell is a pro footballer, but that is simply not enough evidence for entry on Wiki. Thanks.--Teach46 (talk) 15:36, 11 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
