Recipients?

I just read Veit Scherzer book on his thorough study of the German National Archives. After reading this, I believe the list needs to be augmented by his analysis. According to Scherzer, a recipient may be deprived of his awards if he is found guilty of severe crimes and convicted. In his book he de-lists Hermann Fegelein for this reason. Further, during the closing weeks of World War II, a number of Knight's Crosses and higher grades were submitted for approval but failed to meet all the criteria set forth by high command. Scherzer in his book accuses Fellgiebel of a biased view regarding some of these recipients due to a personal relationship he shared with them via the Ordensgemeinschaft der Ritterkreuzträger. In Scherzer view, Fellgiebel has established a general acceptance of Knight's Cross recipients not inline with German law. However, it is generally accepted that 159 plus one foreign recipient (Isoroku Yamamoto) received the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves and Swords. Not all of them are inline with criteria of the awarding procedure. I will code these instances in the list respectively, adding a footnote detailing the failings. Erwin Rommel Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds

Quick thought, on Erwin Rommel's page it says he got a Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds. I haven't personally inspected the source of this, but apparently there is a source for his being awarded said Knight's Cross with all extra tiers on 1943-03-11. Can someone please check both sources and determine if Rommel should be moved to the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds section of this page? I am unsure what exactly you are saying. Indeed he was a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross with Oak Leaves, Swords, and Diamonds and he is listed here (6th entry). MisterBee1966 (talk) 06:47, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Outrageous Nazi Propaganda!

I am shocked and disgusted by the fact that the heroes of 20 July 1944 are treated as if their awards had been cancelled in this list! What has been cancelled in fact are ALL the criminal, unlawful and illegal decisions of the Nazi military courts and the Volksgerichtshof. Why do Anglo-Saxon Wikipedia writers still stick to the Nazi view? Do you also claim that the Nürnberger Gesetze are still to be adhered? --Reibeisen (talk) 18:40, 18 May 2019 (UTC)

Revert

I checkt user Mpnader (talk · contribs) edit against the sources by Fellgiebel, Von Seemen and Scherzer. Additionally I have a copy of the records held by the German Federal Archive, the change based on Williamson & Bujeiro is incorrect and not reflective of the records. • Mölders: was awarded the Diamonds as an Oberst, why? because the law governing the awards was signed in September 1941. See Scherzer 2007, p. 548
• Galland: was awarded the Diamonds for his service with JG 26, not for his service as General der Jagdflieger. See Scherzer 2007, p. 325.
• Rommel: The Afrika Korps was renamed to Heeresgruppe Afrika on 23 February 1943, Rommel received the Diamonds a month later. See Scherzer 2007, p. 638

@MisterBee1966 no Afrika Korps was not renamed to Heeresgruppe Afrika. it was successively part of larger Panzergruppe Afrika, Panzerarmee Afrika and Heeresgruppe Afrika. the latest date that Rommel was its commander was august 1941 Mpnader (talk) 12:08, 23 December 2022 (UTC)

see Panzer Army Africa: Rommel received the Diamonds for his command of Army Group Africa, (Heeresgruppe Afrika, Gruppo d'Armate Africa) February–May 1943, not as you claimed for his command of Deutsches Afrika Korps. Cheers MisterBee1966 (talk) 17:20, 23 December 2022 (UTC)
