Talk:List of Italian Academy Award winners and nominees

Vincent Gardenia edit

How can he be considered Italian for the purposes of this list? He lived all his life in the USA apart from his first 2 years in Italy.

As far as the world is concerned, he was an American actor (of Italian birth and descent); he was not an Italian actor. -- Jack of Oz [your turn] 19:44, 20 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Frank Capra edit

Frank Capra is not an Italian filmmaker. Although he was born in Italy, he immigrated in the USA when he was only six. The criteria for inclusion in the nationality lists should not consider birth but actual citizenship. Capra is an Italian-American director, but since he worked exclusively in the United States and within the Hollywood industry, he MUST be considered an American director. --Marco Ettore (talk) 14:55, 2 March 2013 (UTC)Reply

Henry Mancini edit

Best Music (Original Song) says that it focuses "on songs by Italian-born composers and/or lyricists" but according to the Henry Mancini article he was born in Maple Heights, Ohio. Is the error in that article or this one?Andwats (talk) 18:07, 28 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
