English release of light novels edit

Does anyone know if there is any chance that the novels will be released in English, and if so, when they'll be released? Are there any talks about doing that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.94.179.115 (talk) 21:20, 14 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Release Date for Suzumiya Haruhi no Kyougaku edit

Somebody had January 31st, 2008 listed as the release date for the tenth novel, but the two sources attached to it both state the release date as TBA, as does Kadokawa Sneaker News' website. Does anybody have another source that confirms this release date? For now, I've changed the release date back to TBA to reflect Kadokawa's official stance. SaruKada (talk) 02:53, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

There has never been a new date announced. Doceirias (talk) 08:17, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
That's what Kadokawa's site states as well. Just making sure nobody disagrees with my edit. SaruKada (talk) 09:35, 14 January 2008 (UTC)Reply
Is this meant to be the last volume in the series? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.4.204.47 (talk) 04:00, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I've seen no indication of that. Doceirias (talk) 04:18, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
All right thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 147.4.204.47 (talk) 21:10, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I wish there were more, but I think it will depend on why the tenth book was pushed back. If its to do with the author or publishers, there may not be any more. Was a reason ever given out about why it was pushed back so far? I'm sure they would have been near completion. Highwind888 (talk) 04:29, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

There's been no official reason. It seems more likely to assume writer's block/perfectionism than some sort of feud between the author and publisher, which really rarely happens in Japan. Doceirias (talk) 04:41, 1 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Well for a Haruhiist, I sure hope it's just the writers wanting to perfect it. There may still be hope! I think they should release it soon, while there is still lots of hype regarding Suzumiya Haruhi. Highwind888 (talk) 02:15, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
Writer, not writers. These are novels; the novels were extremely popular before the anime (in fact, that's why they became an anime) and they'll stay popular as long as they keep coming out. Doceirias (talk) 02:28, 2 February 2008 (UTC)Reply
I know the novels came before the anime - I'm a fan of the novels way more than I am of the anime. That's what I mean - if they delay the 10th too much, it may be less popular (doubt it would die down any time soon tho). Highwind888 (talk) 04:05, 4 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Info boxes edit

We really need to rework this page; using the normal infoboxes never worked like this. I'm not sure the new format they were developing for manga lists will work for light novels (despite someone suggesting it could be used that way) but if not, maybe we should develop something that would work for pages like this one? English Version?!?!?! edit

Will there EVER be an english translation of them, or do I have to wait for the fansub version of Haruhi Season 2? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.34.71.97 (talk) 17:06, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Um, read the article. Yen Press and Little Brown will be bringing the novels out in English next spring. Doceirias (talk) 19:39, 29 May 2008 (UTC)Reply

Male demographic edit

Is there any reason to say in the infoboxes that the novels are aimed at a male demographic? IT doesn't seem to me to be aimed particularly at males --Lovenoble (talk) 20:14, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

It's convention, for novels, to place either "male" or "female" as the demographic. The Haruhi series is most definitely male-oriented, and has appeared in The Sneaker, a male-oriented light novel magazine.-- 21:09, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply
It is a Sneaker Bunko light novel series, so it is a male oriented light novel series. If you want a female oriented light novel series from Kadokawa Shoten then go read Beans Bunko light novels or Ruby Bunko light novels. --ChuChu (talk) 23:12, 20 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

English version in England? edit

26th of Semptember 2008: Do you know when the english versions will be sold in England because I am too young to buy them off the internet, but I can get them off ebay thanks to my uncle. Would any of you be able to tell me when they are on ebay (all in a bundleand post on here I will check every 24hrs). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.131.243.223 (talk) 18:39, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

The English version still has no release date, but you should be able to order it at any bookstore when it does come out. By the time all nine are out, odds are you will be old enough... Doceirias (talk) 19:07, 27 September 2008 (UTC)Reply
Do you know when the first books will be out?

Invalid ISBN? edit

The ISBN for book 10 is wrong. It should be 978-4-0442-9210-2. The article currently lists the last digit incorrectly as an 8. I'd change it myself, but I can't find any confirmation that the remaining 12 digits are correct. 96.253.135.47 (talk) 04:46, 16 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
