Main Box Color edit

I know it sound silly, but those colors on that table (template) are horrible, i can't read a dark blue on a horrible red. SOmeone should change the red color....

COLOUR CHANGES TO SEASONS edit

Someone changed the colours on the seasons and I don't know how to change it back and was wondering if someone could change it back to the original colours as these colours are horrible. Sorry to say that but they are. Sceal101 (talk) 21:15, 31 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Format edit

  • Converted to prettytable format since a lot of other shows seem to have the same format. Also added writer/director credits since those are important as well. I did not change the plot, just copied and pasted from the former Desperate Houewives (Season 1) article. I moved the article to this to combine the 2 seasons. My Heart Belongs to Daddy edit

  • I will not accept Susan and Mike Jpeg for the Episode 2.04 Summary! It does not represent what the Episode is about at all!!!

PzzSchoolRules

  • It's not really your choice. That's why we talk about things as a group in the discussion board. That picture you gave was very poor. Can you find a better one? Sfufan2005 18:43, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
Uploaded new image of Susan sending Zach to Utah. I hope that is to everyone's satisfactory. Sfufan2005 18:59, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
  • Hey SF if I find a better pic of Mike holding the Paper would that be OK?
  • It would be fine. Sfufan2005 23:47, 4 December 2005 (UTC)Reply
    • I have restored the episode photo for 2.04, since that is the only photo released for that episode. -- Dan777
    • NOT FOR LONG! I will not allow that EVIL Witch Susan to be represented for this Episode after what she did to ZACH!!!! PzzSchoolRules
Excuse me, but was that really necessary? It was the only picture available and the one you produced was blurry. Just because you don't like Susan doesn't mean that we have to change the picture to appease you. And if you continue to vandalize these pages you will be blocked. Sfufan2005 20:43, 13 December 2005 (UTC)Reply

OK I have decided to just let it go!!! Mike and Zach are going to be reunited on Episode 11 or 12 So whatever :) PzzSchoolRules

I Wish I Could Forget You edit

  • Just wanted to confirm that this is the episode title for Episode 206. It is confirmed on many sites as well TV.com [1], getdesperate.com [2]. So there is no need for deletion. Sfufan2005 22:10, 1 October 2005 (UTC)Reply

Inaccuracies edit

Throughout the episode list the name of the screenwriter Joe Keenan is some now wrongly linked to an article about a homonymous football player.

Some of the episode articles have been mistaken about the origins of the show's episode titles. I think I've fixed the currently existing articles: for the upcoming episodes with known titles, here are the correct versions:

The episode title is that of the song "We're Gonna Be All Right", from Richard Rodgers's musical Do I Hear a Waltz?. The song has two sets of lyrics, both by Stephen Sondheim: the expurgated version was used in the original production.

The episode title is that of the song "There's Something About a War", which was written for, but cut from, Stephen Sondheim's musical A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum - Nunh-huh 22:52, 1 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

"Someone Hot This Way Comes" edit

  • I just want to clarify that episode 220 "It Wasn't Meant to Happen" was NEVER known as "Someone Hot This Way Comes", this was a supposed title by TVGUIDE. I cannot find any source for this as a working title and do not believe that after all the episodes showcasing titles by Sondheim would change for one episode and return back in the next. Unless someone can find the proper source this should not be included in the episode's trivia as it is continuously added by Depressio1992 even after I revert it. Sfufan2005 03:26, 7 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Guest Starring edit

  • I have changed Guest Starring and Co-Starring to Guest Starring on every single episode page. That means, that only the guest stars after the opening credits can be found there, not the ones in the closing credits. On every episode page they are credited in the order they were credited in the actual episode. Shawn Pyfrom and Joy Lauren tend to be credited with like 5 people between them, but I can't do anything about that. There is no need to update guest stars from episodes 1.01 to 2.20 anymore, unless someone is planning on updating ALL of them with the co-starring credits shown after the episode ends. In some cases, this update meant more guest stars, in some cases it meant less. Dan777 11:53, 7 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Could I Leave You? edit

I thought that Could I Leave You? was originally called Road You Didn't Take which is from Stephen Sondheim's Follies. Does anyone know the truth about this? Cheater1908 00:44, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Actually, it wasn't. Someone at some message board posted all the wrong titles for episodes 2.16 to 2.23, most of them were Sondheim songs, but none of them came from an official source. Dan777 20:41, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Remember? edit

Why isn't the question mark on the end of Remember. On the Stephen Sondheim musical A Little Night Music it is. Cheater1908 01:12, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • The song title has one, but the official press release for the episode says only "Remember" and unless reported otherwise before the episode airs (by ABC and Touchstone), that will remain the title. Dan777 20:40, 12 May 2006 (UTC)Reply
  • I also don't recall Mrs. McCluskey (Kathryn Joosten) being in this episode. When did she appear? Cheater1908 17:24, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
    • McCluskey was in the episode. She was credited at the beginning and appeared when all of the neighbors watched Betty and Caleb get into the police car. Sfufan2005 17:46, 3 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for fixing that. Rich Farmbrough 11:26 21 May 2006 (UTC).

Use of images in Lists of episodes edit

A head's up that a weeks-long discussion has been going on at Talk:List_of_Lost_episodes/Use_of_images about the inclusion of screen captured images, such as those used in this list article. The position by some admins appears to be that they are a violation of Copyright and do not fall under Fair Use. Consequently, the images were deleted from the Lost episode list, and likewise will probably be removed from this one-- unless opinion on the use of such images changes. --LeflymanTalk 19:56, 13 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • I've seen that, it's absolutely ridiculous, they won't even let them have DVD covers. Thanks for the heads up tho. Dan777 20:08, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

When Edie moved in edit

  • I noticed that episode 1-11 (Move On) had a brief cameo of Edie moving onto Wisteria Lane. I noticed that all of the housewives were there and Lynette was carrying Penny. Penny was born in 2004, so this must've been the year she moved in. This is kind of speculation, I know, because it was never mentioned, but it's reasonable. Would it be all right if I added this into the flashback section on the Remember page? Cheater1908 02:35, 17 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
    • Yes, that can be added. But what if it wasn't Penny, but Parker that Lynette was holding? But it most probably was Penny, because the twins being only one year older would have to be around there too. And so should Mary Alice. Dan777 20:10, 21 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Time to Come Clean edit

There is a debate going on over the original airdate of the special, "Time to Come Clean". It was either September 2nd or September 3rd. Anyone know the truth about this? Cheater1908 17:42, 5 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

suspected copyright violation edit

Greetings

Are you aware that the recaps of episode 1.02 "Ah, But Underneath" is very similar then the one in tv.com : http://www.tv.com/desperate-housewives/ah-but-underneath/episode/345812/summary.html

Some sentances are just plain copy & paste. I did not check other episodes because I do not want to spoil the show that I just started to watch, but you may want to look into that.

And since you're at it, you might as well change it: Carlos might actually know about their affair: thats' plain wrong : there is nothing in that epsiode to indicate that he does. Dunwich 18:51, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Most of the synopses come from abcmedianet.com where the TV.com synopsis was derived. Just stating the original source. I'm not going to change it without a consensus.Sfufan2005 21:29, 8 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Present caps have to be changed edit

In short we cant even claim fair use on these. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 18:21, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Perhaps screen capture pictures from a DVD could be used in place of these. It works well with Grey's Anatomy and House episode pages. Sfufan2005 19:18, 16 October 2006 (UTC)Reply
Anyone willing to volunteer to do the conversions with me? I could do them all if people would like or if I work with someone else we could do it much quicker. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 21:50, 1 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

You don't understand fair use, do you? (No, I don't mean that as inflammatory or insulting.) A copyright owner can say anything they want, but it doesn't mean anything if it's under fair use. Basically, it's intimidation. Cburnett 03:19, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Though I would rather see DVD screencaps instead. :) Cburnett 03:32, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The "Time to Come Clean" special is narrated by Marc Cherry et al.--I'm only 14, so my vocabulary is still building, could someone please explain to me what et al. means? Thanks! Cheater1908 18:50, 2 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

Airdates of Desperate Housewives AfD edit

I have listed Airdates of Desperate Housewives for AfD. The nomination can be found here. Thanks. -- Wikipedical 20:54, 8 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Simplifying up the article edit

Since this article is growing more and more extence (and will keep on doing so), and the articles Desperate Housewives (season 1), Desperate Housewives (season 2) and Desperate Housewives (season 3) exist in order to keep the longer season synopses away from Desperate Housewives, as well to provide a overview of the main cast of each season, I suggest that the detailed episode guides of this article are included in the season articles, leaving this article with a simplified episodes guide (with the current details, exempt screenshots and episode synopses).

For an example of what I mean, see List of The Simpsons episodes and The Simpsons (season 1) etc. Pjär80 11:19, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

The Simpsons is quite a special case, it has a whole 18 seasons, another example is List of Stargate SG-1 episodes, which is ten seasons long, however, has not needed to be split. LOEs generally do not require splitting and duplicating. The general hierarchy should be like so:
  • Main Page (Desperate Housewives)
    • Episode List (List of DH episodes)
      • Episode pages
      • [..]
    • Season Pages
Season pages are useful, however, and are used by several television shows (e.g. Lost), they however should not replace the role of the episode list (that is to list episode titles, a brief synopsis and a screen capture, and then any prose), season pages should be a summary of the season as a whole and not try duplicating the LOE. Hope this helps! Matthew 11:49, 9 March 2007 (UTC)Reply
I don't agree with you - the article is growin to big, and if you look at shows like 24 (TV series) and Alias (TV series) the episode lists are divided into seasons. Hhowever - for the reasons you mention - there should be a simple episode list - only with titles, episode no:s and original US airdate. Pjär80 16:13, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
Addition: When the article is edited, it's suggested that it ought to be split up because of it's size: "It may be appropriate to split this article into smaller, more specific articles. See Wikipedia:Article size." Pjär80 16:16, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I love it! Thanks for taking the time to do this! :-) Cheater1908 00:02, 17 March 2007 (UTC)Reply

Subtle Vandalism edit

I am not sure how many of you noticed the subtle vandalism that the final episodes of Season 3 were subject to. I have tried cleaning up, by removing obvious ones like:

Bree smiles a smile. Breee drinks a drink. etc.

But since I don't live in the US and currently don't get to see the Third Season, it would be good if someone from the US could have a look at the final few episodes of Season 3 and see if I removed something pertinent, or if some vandalism is still existing.

Sir Titus 18:19, 21 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

    • Thanks for cleaning this up, Sir Titus! You are right, that is subtle vandalism. BTW, you will love season 3 when it gets to your country :-) Cheater1908 01:02, 3 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Season 4 edit

I deleted the season 4 section because I don't think it's right to start that until the season premiere's title and/or plot has been announced. And I don't think that we should add that section on here and just put general information about that season, because this is a list of episodes, not general storylines. If people wanted to read about season 4, they could visit the Desperate Housewives (season 4) page. Thoughts? Cheater1908 23:24, 18 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Agreeing!
I've also thaught about what sources are used when the articles about upcoming DH episodes (as well as the synopses in this article) are written. Currently basically any source are considered OK (e.g. SpoilerFix) which IMO isn't very encyclopedic. Just as every article on Wikipedia, these articles ought to be based on valid sources, which as far as I see it, are ABC press releases, the official Desperate Housewives site and - to some extent - interviews with members of the show's cast and crew. (for a good example of how this work for another show, see WikiProject Lost's guidelines).
What do you people think? Pjär80 11:01, 19 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Single episodes edit

I plan on redirecting these per WP:EPISODE soon. Information from multiple secondary sources must be present for a single episode to need an article. This includes reception and development. Single plot summaries and trivia don't make a substantial article. I suggest Wikia and tv.com as alternate venues for this information. TTN 20:41, 30 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Fair use images edit

Using screenshots in 'list of...' articles is inconsistent with our fair-use criteria as the needed commentary can not be contained here, and as such violates WP:NONFREE. They have been removed, please do not re-add them. -Mask? 22:57, 4 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

DVD Released edit

For the Season 4 DVD release, I deleted the part that says the finale is expected to air on May 19th, because that has not yet been announced. Besides, the 19th in 2008 is a Monday. The 18th is the sunday: http://www.timeanddate.com/calendar/index.html?year=2008&country=1

Series colours edit

I'm wondering on others' opinions, but the colours for each series' episodes are far too bright and painful to the eyes. I think that we should revert back to the soothing pale blues, greens, and browns that were originally here and delete the series five section as it isn't close to airing anytime soon. Geoking66talk

Remember edit

There is a bit of conflict regarding the episode Remember. I believe it was only one episode, not two. Could some other users voice their opinions (do you have any references?) that can settle this argument? Thanks - Corn.u.co.pia Discussion 09:11, 23 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

I found an official source here!. It comfirms Remember is only one episode. If you change it back to 24, it will be considered vandalism! Corn.u.co.pia Discussion 02:21, 26 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

Links that proves its 2 episodes: Remember part 1: [3]

Remember part 2:[4]

the episode is the 23rd episode of the second season as well as the season 2 finale, however, because it a 2-hour episode, its considered 2 episodes....213.42.23.71 (talk) 11:50, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

here is a list of the 2 part episodes of DH that are considered 2 episodes with 100% reliable links that proves hes wrong...

season 2:

"Remember" 2 part [Season finale] episode:[5]

season 3:

"I remember that" and "the little things you do together" 2 part episode: [6]

season 4:

"The gun song" and "Free" 2 part [Season finale] episode: [7]

please someone forbid user adamdeanhall to keep insisting on putting the above episodes as a regular non 2 part episodes....someone report him —Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.42.23.71 (talk) 23:03, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

i will change them now,and if someone changes them to regular non 2 part episodes, then it will be considered vandalism.

Editing War: List of Desperate Housewives episodes edit

My competitor Special:Contributions/213.42.23.71 and I are in an editing war, and it is about List of Desperate Housewives episodes. Could you please do something about this?! If we keep this up, we'll both be blocked from Wikipedia!! AdamDeanHall (talk) 23:55, 28 April 2008 (UTC)Reply

The upcoming "Desperate Housewives" episode "Mirror, Mirror" edit

Why would you name an upcoming Desperate Housewives episode after the Star Trek: The Original Series episode "Mirror, Mirror"? AdamDeanHall (talk) 12:44, 20 September 2008 (UTC)Reply

Merger proposal edit

Would you please consider merging Seasons 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Desperate Housewives to independent pages? AdamDeanHall (talk) 23:46, 27 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Sorry, I don't quite get you. Do you want to remove this list and merge the info into the repsective season articles? If so, I will have to oppose. We can have this page and the season articles, there's nothing wrong with having both. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 05:14, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Absolutely support this idea. Don't completely understand. See List of Lost episodes, List of The Simpsons episodes, List of Degrassi: The Next Generation episodes, List of Smallville episodes, et. al., which are all Featured lists, and all have season pages, which are also Featured in some cases. Matthewedwards 06:54, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
But we already have the independent season pages. I don't think I really understand the proposal. Corn.u.co.pia / Disc.us.sion 08:39, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Do you want me to remove the Merger tag from the page? If so, please say "Yes" and I will do it immediately. AdamDeanHall (talk) 13:29, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, I don't completely understand the proposal either. Are you saying you want all the season pages merging and redirecting to this page, or do you want the episode summaries that appear here merging off into the relevant season pages? Matthewedwards 18:34, 28 October 2008 (UTC)Reply

Mirror, Mirror edit

Why does this episode not have a full summary. First it did, then it didnt, then it did again, and now again it doesnt and has been so for a while now. Why is this? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dragonboy (talkcontribs) 08:27, 8 November 2008 (UTC)Reply

Matt Berry edit

The writer of several episodes is listed as Matt Berry and this links to the British actor/writer Matt Berry. I don't think it's the same person (certainly not according to IMDB). Anyone object if I remove this link? Beantrees (talk) 22:17, 15 December 2008 (UTC)Reply

Season Colors. edit

Ok, so I have a suggestion. Does you think we should change the Season colors to the colors that go with the seasons. I suggest that we turn the colors to:
Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
Season 5
Season 6
Season 7
Season 8
