Current state of the article edit

I'd hazard to say that this page is pretty out of shape. for the most part, these summaries are way too long for this type of list, and the level of detail is likely beyond what is salient, thoughts? Exteric (talk) 21:35, 23 May 2011 (UTC)Reply

Season 3, Episode 1 summary edit

While you (Gogo Dodo and others) are certainly correct in the information that only one crewmember of Ocean Challenger's sinking survived, that information is not disclosed in the episode. We are left with a "cliffhanger" ending, not knowing if any other survivors have been or will be located. The assumption is that the outcome will be continued and revealed at the start of the next episode (#2). We have to report/document/summarize/comment upon on what is contained in the episode itself. -- HawkeAnyone 03:17, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

I've got mixed opinions on this one, though I understand what you are saying. One hand it is verifiable and open knowledge on what the unfortunate outcome of the Ocean Challengeer is. This isn't a reality TV game show where nobody is supposed to know what happens. On the other hand, if you look from the point of view of just the shows in and of itself, you are correct that we don't know what is going on. -- Gogo Dodo 04:11, 6 April 2007 (UTC)Reply

season 4 edit

so do we know when season 4 is to begin? --LtWinters 17:13, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply

Likely spring of 2008, since the 2007 King Crab season doesn't start unti September 2007 and Opi season starts in January 2008. Scarletsmith 19:07, 28 July 2007 (UTC)Reply
That's what I thought. March probably?--LtWinters 19:17, 5 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
More likely April. There is news from the Northwestern that last year's greenhorn, Jake Andersen, decided to stay with the Northwestern after the Opi season instead of changing boats, so we may see him again next season. Scarletsmith 05:40, 23 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
After the work he went through he'd be crazy not to.--Marhawkman 12:04, 24 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Season 5 Synopses edit

Episodes 61-65 didn't have any synopses, and I have yet to see the episodes (and Ep. 65 hasn't been aired at the time of writing), so in the meantime I added the text from the official schedule in the interests of having at least a few words about the episode available. Daniel tharp (talk) 02:39, 21 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Unfortunately, that would be a copyright violation, so I had to remove it. I do plan to catch up on the episodes and write the summaries sometime soon. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 20:37, 21 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

Where are the episode summaries coming from? edit

I do very little/no TV show editing, more watching :) Just curious where the summaries are coming from. I was wondering how the previews of next week are handled/incorporated into the summary. In season 6, the July 13th episode shows that the next week they mention that they "lost" Phil Harris, and the July 20th show "covers" his passing. Anyways, --Tom (talk) 21:44, 29 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

For the summaries that I wrote (mostly past seasons, nothing with season 6), I wrote them after I watched the episodes. I'm pretty sure the other editors who have written summaries do something similar. I never incorporated any of the next episode previews into the summaries. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 05:20, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks. Is this "standard/acceptable" for TV shows? It seems like original research, especially the length/detail/POV. Anyways, I do little/no TV stuff so I'll defer to others. Also, I am in no way "knocking" folks efforts, cheers! --Tom (talk) 12:34, 30 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
I have no idea what the norm is, though some of the summaries are a bit lengthy. If you have concerns about some particular season/summary/section, you're welcome to fix it or discuss it. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 21:24, 31 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Seasons, series, and episodes edit

Is it just me, or is are the series and seasons columns confusing? They don't make any sense to me. Shouldn't they simply be Season 1 Episode 1; Season 1, Episode 2... etc? Anna Frodesiak (talk) 17:50, 11 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I agree. It was changed by 70.119.195.190 back in June of last year. Looking at the documentation for {{Episode list}}, the columns should be switched and the headers changed to different descriptions. -- Gogo Dodo (talk) 06:19, 12 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

Missing Content

Since S11 there seems to be less details that is been added for each episode and overall content. Seemingly at the end of the season episodes no more information is been added and not added thereafter. Which means that over last few seasons the end of season specials those after end of season normal episode. I can see for S12 and S13 suffer this fate there are special episode not having been added.

Would appreciate that specials are added to the main episode list in order of the date they were broadcast. Having them at the end makes little sense to order of episodes in which they are shown.

Other episodes are missing from the list.

Deadliest Catch On Deck there was four seasons (or more).

Deadliest Catch The Bait also has so far four seasons. The Bait S04 E07 The Bait S04 E08 Special Episode (for the upcoming Deadliest Catch Dungeness Cove S01)

Deadliest Catch S00 (Pilot episodes Deadliest Job in the World and Deadliest Season) more info needed for each episode for these pilot episodes. including any media disc release for these unseen pilots. I wonder if Discovery has re-shown all four pilot episodes in recent years since first showing them, would be an interesting to note in episode list (such as last re-broadcast) since they were first shown far to long ago to know exact first air date of these. Moreover latest re-shown dates would help other know if they have or are been re-shown or not.

We do appreciate this Wikipedia for Deadliest Catch but more information is needed. I would but don't have enough details such as episode content or any original broadcast dates. Hope the editor of this can add more information for what is missing.

Information about any related Deadliest Catch media released on disc (DVD, BD and !!!)
