Jonathan H. Carter edit

  • Jonathan H. Carter, Class of 1846 (CSA), this was on the list but it links to an 1845 NAVAL ACADEMY graduate. I can not find an article on the West Point grad of 1846, so am listing here for record purposes.RlevseTalk 02:55, 28 December 2009 (UTC)Reply

Charles S Morgan Jr. edit

Any chance there is an overlap w St. Clair Morgan of Morgan–Storrs duel? jengod (talk) 19:03, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

You mean overlap as in "the same person"? No, they were two different people, different details and different years with no shared time there either. Your St. Clair Morgan, refered to as St. Clair M. Morgan in the cadet registers from 1849 to 1851, is not the later Charles Stephen Morgan Jr (who survived both the war and the century, died 1907). However he is eligible for this list, too. ...GELongstreet (talk) 22:10, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's what I meant and I thank you for the answer! I'll add St. Clair when I get around to it. Man, I did not mean to emotionally adopt all these Confederates LOL. Thanks as always. jengod (talk) 22:28, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
You're welcome; just added him. ...GELongstreet (talk) 22:40, 17 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Candidate for you edit

Thought of this page when I encountered this capsule bio in a footnote on page 389 in Vol. 1 of the Papers of Andrew Johnson: "Pierce Butler Anderson (d. 1861), who opened a general store at Cheek’s Cross Roads, Hamblen County, about 1835. A minor political figure during the early 1840’s, Anderson had attended West Point (1823-25), served as a U. S. infantry captain (1847-48), and subsequently, as a Confederate army captain, was killed near Buffalo Mountain, West Virginia." Keep up the good work! Cheers jengod (talk) 07:11, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for noting. Found some details and added him. ...GELongstreet (talk) 16:57, 12 January 2024 (UTC)Reply
