Names

The Gazette, not the MOD list is the definitve list. We need an additional ref to show that the two names refer to one and the same person - if he's actually changed name by deed poll, those are often gazetted too. At the very least we should give both names so that the reason for the discrepancy is obvious. David Underdown (talk) 14:12, 8 December 2008 (UTC)

Article name

Is it only me but something does not seem right with the article name List of British gallantry awards for the War in Afghanistan as this is the 4th British Afghan War at some time someone will start adding awards from previous conflicts. Should we add 4th Afghan War or since 2001 into the title somewhere? --Jim Sweeney (talk) 07:31, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Only the present one is referred to as the War in Afghanistan - the lead makes the scope of the article crystal clear, and the title's pretty cumbersome already. David Underdown (talk) 08:20, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Armatage / Armitage

Someone recently changed S/Sgt Armatage's name to Armitage (with no edit summary). I've changed it back because I can't find a Notice in the London Gazette to say the original was wrong. (I have found a Notice correcting another entry in the same Gazette, and also found another entry with him referred to as Armatage.) Antrim Kate (talk) 23:21, 12 November 2011 (UTC)
