Shorts and removal of the writer/director info and the shorts edit

Agree that the "shorts" should be listed here as well, but in a separate section from the episodes. Also, if there are just "single" shorts in a "set", they shouldn't be put into a table – it looks like the last two shorts fall into this category, so they shouldn't be put into a table... --IJBall (contribstalk) 01:43, 1 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

(For clarification, the comment below is a separate discussion of the titular topic, not a direct reply to the comment above.)
If the episodes themselves are notable enough for an article (and that seems to be a generally accepted proposition for pretty much all shows in general), I don't see why the shorts aren't notable enough for inclusion as well, and including the writers and directors is pretty much standard for TV episode lists. See Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Television#Episode listing, which explicitly states "Just like the season articles, which use a similar tabular format, a brief summary of the plot (100–200 words) is applicable, along with a list of the writers, directors, airdates, episode title and episode number." I don't think its inclusion making the table "ugly" is enough of a reason not to include it.
To User:Amaury, a couple quick notes - WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS explicitly says that Wikipedia should be consistent in the content provided (consistency can sometimes be a valid argument) and that dismissing someone only by referring to that page without more is discouraged. I don't have an explicit citation right now, but I question whether making major changes yourself without discussing them first and then directing people to the talk page for discussion if they want to make the "major change" of reverting them back to how they were is proper practice, either. (In case anyone only looks at the history of this page, the shorts had been included on the main Big City Greens page before the episode list was split off onto its own page. I was only putting them back.)
Again, the style manual explicitly says to include the writers and directors, and regardless of whether you think they're notable or not, literally every other animated kids' show episode list I've found when looking for a little while now lists shorts where applicable. I think under those circumstances an argument based on consistency seems fair even if you don't personally think that information is notable.
Unless you have a convincing argument as to why this information should have been removed without discussion, thus not following the style guidelines and also making this article inconsistent with other articles for animated kids' shows (or other people chime in with their own arguments to that effect), I'll probably restore the shorts sometime soon. (I'd restore the writer/director info, too, but that would be a more extensive process that I don't know if I'll take the time to do personally or not.) If they're removed again after that, I'll probably take this discussion somewhere else to get more input - maybe the television Manual of Style talk page unless I find a better place.
Just as a side note, if any of this comes off too harshly, I apologize. That's not the intention. Alphius (talk) 02:10, 1 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
The issue with the animation articles is that writers & directors are fine, but then people insist upon also including "Storyboarded by", and then these episode tables just become too over-stuffed. So, I'd agree to include just 'Writer' and 'Director' columns, but if people also want to include the 'Storyboard' column, then I'm with Amaury that I'd rather all that info just stay out of the table. --IJBall (contribstalk) 03:19, 1 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Year ordering issues edit

Many fans are violating WP:TOOSOON, while yes episodes are airing in 2021, it doesn't mean the article would say so. In fact, say that the season ended in 2021 when a single new episode hasn't aired it would just be way too soon. Additionally, Wikipedia is not a guide for television, as per MOS:TVINTL. Proposed rearrangement of Season 1 edit

I think, nay, believe, that the episodes of season 1 (specifically the pre-"Uncaged" episodes) should be rearranged based on the official order of the season as stated by co-developer Shane Houghton and listed on Disney+, rather than the order they aired on TV.RobThomas15 (talk) 03:25, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Not happening. Episodes are ordered by air date. Period. Amaury • 08:39, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply
Amaury is correct – we always go off original broadcast order. The show was a Disney Channel show first – they get to decide the episode order. Disney+ or the production order do not supersede this in anyway – we always go off original broadcast/release order. This is exactly why we include production codes (where applicable) – but it doesn't change the broadcast order. --IJBall (contribstalk) 09:00, 16 January 2021 (UTC)Reply

Summaries edit

The Season 2 finale episode and all of Season 3 have fuller plot summaries. Can't the earlier season episodes' summaries be redone to describe the full plots, rather than just the basic synopsizes? 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:49F9:1977:FEE3:8EA9 (talk) 19:05, 16 July 2023 (UTC)Reply

Season 4 edit

I'm confused. There are rumors going around saying that the fourth season will start on September 23 and have already given information on the first two episodes, including images of them. I think I even saw a poster showing the release date and the Disney Channel logo. However, no official Disney sources are saying anything about it! I just don't know what to believe! 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:7CFE:498:352C:3673 (talk) 19:18, 25 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

A link showing news on the season is shown. Apparently, it is indeed going to premiere on September 23, but official Disney networks are still saying zilch. Very confused here!

Someone please remove all the recurring characters from the guest star section of each episode, because it is very unnecessary to put down every character who is not a main character. 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:405D:4656:A093:551A (talk) 07:08, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. M.Bitton (talk) 13:40, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply
Well, for instance: putting down Zeno Robinson as Remy Remington, Wendi McLendon-Covey as Nancy Green, and Anna Akana as Gloria in every episode they appear in is not necessary, considering they all appear in over half of the episodes. Also, putting down Kiki, Weezy, Benny, Officer Keys, Brett, Mr. Grigorian, Vasquez, Rashida Remington, Russell Remington, Andromeda, Gabriella Espinosa, Gregly, Maria Media, Community Sue, and Gwendolyn Zapp is also unnecessary, since they are recurring characters. Paul Scheer as Chip Whistler could be listed in the guest stars as he appears as an antagonist in a few select episodes who once in a while comes up with a plan to get revenge on the Greens. Otherwise, adding the recurring characters to the guest stars section is not necessary. 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:405D:4656:A093:551A (talk) 18:35, 30 August 2023 (UTC)Reply

With the episode "Country Side", instead of saying "Bill catches Cricket and Remy and are grounded", we could say, "Bill catches Cricket and Remy and they are grounded", in order to clarify who gets grounded. 2603:6010:8B45:FA00:9548:B558:297:E579 (talk) 21:49, 24 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

Need an explanation on why this Article protected, but not the article on the show edit

Why is the article for the list of episodes of Big City Greens protected but the article of the show, Big City Greens is not? It doesn't make much sense. Anyone care to explain why? 70.50.199.125 (talk) 07:38, 11 March 2024 (UTC)Reply
