Article name edit

To be honest, I'm not entirely certain that (manga) needs to be in the article name. I added it for disambiguation from the song meaning of "Aria", because Aria (manga) is the main article for this spinout. Yet, these are soundtracks for the anime. So, yeah. —Quasirandom (talk) 20:49, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Things will eventually settle down and we have ammunitions in reserve to improve this article like the Yui Makino interview about the two first opening and i have links to Famitsu interview of Kaori Mio Isayama who did the Maxi single for the second Aria video game. --KrebMarkt 21:00, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

More ammunitions edit

Class B rating alerady :O edit

Meeep.... Meeep.... That was fast. For future discussion i think that possible point of contention would be excite references, an easily discarded one as it ex_anime is the pen name of the excite anime portal editorial team and Neko-han-ten. Neko-han-ten is reliable as a translation of the tracks list and performers, compositions, writings credits, all right from each CD booklet and it has policies [1] which draw a clear line from what is from the CDs and what is from the website author. I have replacement refs from Oricon for most albums and singles but Oricon is in Full Japanese and not always as precise (For example composition for the 1st Aria OST was attributed to Choro Club as a whole rather to each respective member as it is done in the booklet and in Neko-Han-Ten). --KrebMarkt 22:47, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Already, yeah. Though we need an image, per the assessor. As for the references, do what you think best. I agree that excite is a potential concern, but I suspect how hard those references get poked depends on the reviewer and possibly we don't need to swap them unless requested during (possibly??) FLC. —Quasirandom (talk) 23:00, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Oh, also, we need to add some categories, but I haven't a clue what. —Quasirandom (talk) 23:04, 27 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Depending on the direction this (and other animanga discography lists) goes, the creation of Category:Anime and manga discographies or similar may be warranted. ダイノガイ?!」(Dinoguy1000) 01:38, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Why manga in that? I only know of one manga series with any soundtracks (well, image albums), and not enough to ever get a list. —Quasirandom (talk) 05:09, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply
Partly for consistency with pretty much all other categories with "anime" or "manga" in their names (and especially those that categorize lists), and partly because many of the franchises that will be able to support discography articles/lists consist of both a manga series and an anime series (or more than one of one or both). Of course, I know considerably less about soundtracks, drama/audio CDs, etc, and how they tie into animanga franchises, than I do about anime and manga series themselves and how they tend to tie together. This is why I purposely left the proposed category name open for adjustment. ;) BTW, while I've got your ear, would you care to list the audio media formats one might encounter in an animanga franchise, and make recommendations as to which should be represented in the infobox, over at Template talk:Infobox animanga#Template consolidation? --Dinoguy1000 (talk · contribs) as 66.116.12.126 (talk) 07:16, 28 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

B2 Coverage & Accuracy answer edit

To answer Goodraise there are some additional refs links. Just that we have already more KBs for refs than prose :(
Aria the Animation Discography
Aria the Natural Discography
Arai the Origination Discography
Arietta OVA Discography
Do we need to add them ? and where ?
I understand the logic that we need refs to prove Completeness but are we ready to pay the edit price for it ?

One more release edit

Ok probably the last of one.

ARIA The BOX Details of the tracks description of the box 3 CDs --KrebMarkt 10:41, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

We probably should mention that, yeah. (As an aside, I covet.) —Quasirandom (talk) 14:52, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
I love the art and the subtle homage to Eri Kawai with sunflowers (Himawari). I want to wait until the publisher put up a proper page for the BOX to insert it into the article. --KrebMarkt 15:33, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Fair enough. —Quasirandom (talk) 17:02, 30 July 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ex Anime ref doubling up to official page to come. They removed the news announcing the box on the official website :( --KrebMarkt 06:33, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Official page I will add it soon.
Yum. (I have to admit, the wasei eigo titles this franchise gets do sometimes amuse me in their Engrishness. Animating that silly cat wasn't enough, but they had to navigate and originate him, and now morph him into a box?) —Quasirandom (talk) 20:12, 30 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Aria The Bento? Rank 25th on Oricon albums chart which is impressive for an expensive 3 CDs box. Best ranking of any Aria albums.
And that's only so far, what with it being out only a week. (I might eat out of an Aria bento box, but I'm not going to eat an Aria bento. Ick.) —Quasirandom (talk) 14:07, 1 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Updated the article with it but not sure a full list of the soundtracks would very relevant knowing that CD1 & 2 are compilations only CD3 is new. Side-comment: no more box available only second hand market, price is between 12,000 - 15,000 yens there, enough to covert 3 English subbed box set. --KrebMarkt 11:15, 8 November 2009 (UTC)Reply

Article name 2 edit

Out of curiosity, why does "(manga)" need to be included in the article name? It makes the reader think that the soundtracks are for the manga, which is not the case. Arsonal (talk) 03:27, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

To be accurate it's the List of Aria (anime/video game) franchise soundtrack or Aria franchise discography. Too high potential of ambiguity issue with just Aria. grrr --KrebMarkt 05:55, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Basically, because it's soundtracks for the franchise that is covered in Aria (manga). To use a different disambiguator would make it harder to find; to use no disambiguator makes it ambiguous, given the large number of things identified as "Aria". To be honest, I'm not thrilled by the title myself (see above) but it's the best of a bad lot, as far as I can tell. —Quasirandom (talk) 14:15, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
I'm just curious because List of Clannad soundtracks does not include the disambiguator despite the fact that the main article is Clannad (visual novel). Arsonal (talk) 16:29, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
A point -- and there's even a Clannad musical artist to disambiguate from, though following the musical artist guidelines, the album list for them is Clannad discography. Sounds like we've got either a hole or a contradiction in our guidelines. —Quasirandom (talk) 17:14, 10 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Disambiguators in spinout article titles (and related templates, categories, files, etc.) is, I think, a bit of a hole in WP guidelines in general - at least, I don't ever remember reading anything specifically addressing them. As for naming conventions on anime soundtrack/album lists, the whole area is still one that's being felt out by WP:ANIME, so nothing's really set in stone yet, and the naming issue is just one proof of that. ダイノガイ千?!? · Talk⇒Dinoguy1000 20:14, 11 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
