Talk:Limb bud

Does the limb bud originate from lateral plate mesoderm? i think it does, but i can't remember. I'm also not sure if the AER is considered part of the limb bud... I believe so, at least morphologically. Robotsintrouble 20:34, 27 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

I had an embryology professor (who was actually a surgical pathologist, go figure) tell me that the limb bud gets contributions from both lateral plate and paraxial mesoderm. I don't have my embryo text handy, though, so I can't confirm. --David Iberri (talk) 15:43, 28 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

First, the introduction was thoroughly confusing to read, and seemed to have missing information. Additionally, each subsequent section after the intro, somewhat excluding the sections after specific experimentation, was relatively confusing as well. I attempted to cut up the information in these sections into digestible chunks, and then make the information contained within less confusing. Moreover, it appears as if most of the prior information on this page came from a textbook, which isn't necessarily bad, but I thought it would be more helpful for people who are interested in this topic to have relevant review articles to read when they encountered the topics addressed on this page. There was also a really long discussion of Hox genes on this page that wasn't necessarily specific to limb bud development; therefore, I removed it. In total, I fixed the three first sections of this page by making them more comprehensible, properly linking all associated topics, adding some updated information, and adding updated sources.

If anything looks incorrect, don't hesitate to let me know! (I am sorry that I am not very good at linking to other pages/sourcing articles correctly. If anyone could take care of these issues, I would greatly appreciate it!)
