Tidying list of companies

To tidy the list of companies will be hard as any efforts could be accused of bias.

I think the best way is to focus on their traditional markets sectors ("me too" is rife in this market), whether they are distributed or not and the scale they can run to (whether they are best suited to large medium or small automation).

Suggested merging of Smart lighting into Lighting control

I suggest merging the two articles, since both articles concern themselves with lighting control systems, and there is a large degree of overlap. The Lighting control system article seems more established and has more links to other languages, and is a much more descriptive article than "Smart lighting" in my opinion.Sauer202 (talk) 09:18, 7 August 2021 (UTC)

"Smart cant be used in everything" A control system defines a wide domain, but Smart Lighting define a focussed domain. Smart Lighting can be referred to as a lighting system that can adapt according to people behaviour or having at least one feedback system to improve the control system itself. I still disagree. "Smart lighting" currently seems to be used as a buzz word for any form of lighting control. Smart lighting does not necessarily imply automated lighting control. An example of what I would call non-automated "smart lighting" would be to use an app on a phone to control a light instead of using a physical switch on the wall, or to use a wireless dimmer. Your understanding of smart lighting however seems to be in line with Lighting control system#Automated control based on occupancy sensors. The smart lighting article currently defines smart lighting as "a lighting technology designed for energy efficiency, convenience and security". This is essentially equivalent to saying "an energy efficient and convenient lighting control" (which seems to be two identical definitions, except for the security part, which should always be an obvious non-functional requirement anyways). I have now merged the content of 'Smart lighting' into 'Lighting control'. There is still a lot of overlapping and repeated content, so it will need some work before it becomes a good article. Sauer202 (talk) 15:30, 26 December 2021 (UTC)
