Leroy Brown (American football)LeRoy Brown — This move is needed for two reasons: 1. According to EMU media guides, his name is "LeRoy", not "Leroy"; 2. It's not appropriate to disambiguate him with "(American football)" because he appears to be equally notable for American football and for basketball. "LeRoy Brown" is currently a redirect to Leigh Brown, but there is no explanation of why. Because this move is over a redirect to a different article, I'm considering it possibly controversial. --cmadler (talk) 14:26, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

  • Unsure at this stage. The redir from LeRoy Brown to Leigh Brown certainly needs to change! But there's lots to consider about the primary move, including WP:BLP and of course WP:UCN, also WP:CAPS and MOS:CAPS (but probably not MOS:TM which tends to be quoted in all CamelCase matters). • Withdrawn, though I'd like advise on a better disambiguation. The 2010 EMU men's basketball media guide lists him as "LeRoy Brown" ([1] p 104), but the 2010 EMU football media guide does list him as "Leroy Brown" ([2] p 166), and the 1908 yearbook, "The Aurora", lists a "Leroy Brown" as the right halfback on the football team ([3] no page numbers). So I'm no longer confident of the capitalisation, but I think a different disambiguation is needed. cmadler (talk) 17:10, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
    • I'd suggest "(sports coach)" (or sport coach, if that's the U.S. idiom).--Kotniski (talk) 09:05, 30 December 2010 (UTC)Reply
      • It would be "sports coach" to this American. -GTBacchus(talk) 05:07, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
        • Yeah, the US idiom would be "sports coach". Would simply "coach" be better? cmadler (talk) 13:17, 3 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
