Article name change edit

As the subject of this article is recognized as a transgender male, I suggest changing the name to “Leonard Chalmers”. Cornmazes (talk) 04:40, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

  • Comment: Per MOS:DEADNAME, if Chalmers was a trans man, then we should absolutely change the article title. (...One question, though: What sources are there about Chalmers being trans? The one source listed in the article for that statement is Olympedia. I'm not knowledgeable about Olympedia and whether it's reliable; they could totally be super reliable, though! I'm just wondering where Olympedia got that from. (EDIT: I just checked the Web Archive, and the dates confirm that Olympedia didn't get that statement from Wikipedia. Phew, just checking.) Anyway, if Olympedia is a reliable source, then this page should be moved.) Paintspot Infez (talk) 01:17, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
I believe it is! The information for the website states that it has been curated by a team of Olympic researchers and aficionados for years. That obviously doesn't prove its reliability in itself, but I don't see any reason why they aren't. I actually emailed the team a couple months back requesting more info on Leonard here, and the very polite original article writer replied with a message and a link to a very helpful genealogy.com article (which I've been procrastinating on adding info from to this article....) EDIT: https://www.olympedia.org/static/about states that the website has been worked on since 1998, and most of the moderators and writers of the website are members of the International Society of Olympic Historians. Cornmazes (talk) 04:25, 26 August 2022 (UTC)Reply
