Conflict of interest

As far back as May 2006, IP address User:207.188.94.238 has been editing this article. On Wikipedia's help desk today, this IP admitted to being David Leon, an officer of Leon's, and proclaimed an intention to keep making edits to the article whenever he saw fit "to ensure its integrity." I added the COI tag. And you know, not only is this definitely a Conflict of Interest, I wonder if this place is even notable enough to have an article in the first place. -- JT^Holla! 03:24, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, but if you look at this person's edits, they're obviously not major, which is one of the criteria for adding the tag right there on the tag itself. Building dispute

I see the the building dispute with Dovercourt Boys and Girls Club has been readded in [1] with [2] as source (currently not displayed since reference section is missing). The only mention there of the Leon family or furniture is "Leon, of the Leon's Furniture family, is a representative of Don Valley Storage Inc. and owner of the building ...". The former source [3] says: "Leon is related to the founder of furniture chain Leon's, but does not work for the company and there is no business connection." This article is supposed to be about Leon's Furniture Limited. I don't think the sources show sufficient connection between the furniture company and the dispute to justify mention of the dispute. Hi everyone! We'd just like to know if we can prevent the person writing on behalf of the Dovercourt Boys and Girls Club from continuing to edit the Leon's Furniture Ltd. Wikipedia page. Some Cleanup

I went through and tried to pick my way through some of the information and change some of the stuff that needed it. Still one section that reads like an advertisement, so added the tag. Removed the COI tag and the whole Trivia section, as well as some mention of the family. Though process on the last part is if you're not going to talk about the family in a negative light, you can't talk about them in a positive light, either, so I removed any mention of the family that wasn't a necessary part of the information. -- JT^Holla! 23:28, 26 February 2008 (UTC)

Leon's at WP:COIN and notability issues

The issue is still open at WP:COIN. If anyone who has worked on this article wants to comment, you could do so on the noticeboard. Otherwise it might be closed as a COI complaint, due to the apparent consensus of the local editors that the problem is solved. The lack of sources is a problem. All I could find was the store's own website, which doesn't mention any news articles. EdJohnston (talk) 02:05, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

[4] says their 2007 sales were $833,381,000. I'm not Canadian and haven't looked for independent sources but I certainly guess they exist for a retail business of that size. PrimeHunter (talk) 02:23, 1 March 2008 (UTC)

More on notability - removed notability tag

A quick search of internet sources shows several that report Leon's as being the top or one of the top furniture retailers in Canada (by revenue/earnings) - here's one: [5] - the article's still a mess, and a complete re-write may be challenging (not finding it easy to source historical data outside the site) but their revenue and earnings info should be easy to source.
