Talk:Leo van de Pas

Reappearance edit

This article has been entirely rewritten to avoid the allegation against the previous version two years ago. I welcome constructive comment, as always, but I will not be undertaking substantial rework on this. If it fails Wiki's acceptability criteria, let it fall. It's not my loss. I note that this article was written as a stub, but that another editor removed the stub tags. The original stub status is confirmed on this talk page - see above. You asked for further refs - I've given these as best as I can find them. I've also introduced Leo's status as an author and an authority control. I have not added a copyedit tag. I really do appreciate you giving Leo van de Pas the treatment he deserves here on Wikipedia. His tireless efforts in the field of genealogy are still being felt today. Monsieurdl mon talk 16:02, 8 April 2023 (UTC)Reply

Notability edit

I've compared this article with William Addams Reitwiesner's article.

LVDP is Australian, about 16,000+ bytes, has 11 references and an extensive bibliography. He created a reference website that is still available today. Authority Control via several indexes. His article is tagged for 'Notability'

WAR is American, about 4,000+ bytes, has 3 references, a limited bibliography and a defunct website (available via archives). No obvious Authority Control (now updated to include VIAF - but I had to do this). No such 'Notability' tag.

This doesn't seem consistent treatment to me. Please can someone spell out the notability deficiency as it applies to LVDP. Icairns 2 (talk) 07:50, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

The original tagger was contacted and has removed his own tags. Icairns 2 (talk) 19:46, 18 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Verification references edit

I've compared this article with William Addams Reitwiesner's article.

LVDP has 11 references over 16,000+ bytes and a tag requiring additional references.

WAR has 3 references over 4,000+ bytes including an archived website. No such 'Additional Citations' tag for this article - why?

This doesn't seem consistent treatment to me. Please can someone spell out the additional citations required as it applies to LVDP. Icairns 2 (talk) 07:50, 11 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
