Education? edit

When I went to Lenox Memorial High School, kids from other towns were accepted. We had one kid from Richmond in my class, that of 1985. I was under the impression that area schools had opened up, and were now accepting children from other towns. So can someone please research this claim in the article that Lenox will not take students from any other town? Bobkeyes (talk) 04:43, 14 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

  • After a quick review of the DOE website, apparently the way this should be worded is that it's the only town without any official tuition agreements. Other towns, like Richmond, can in fact send students there, but it is not in a "set-in-stone" agreement like the rest of the towns, per say. ToddC4176 (talk) 15:07, 16 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Tanglewood & etc edit

In terms of the local economy and the larger culture, Tanglewood is the most significant thing going on in Lenox and has been for a very long time. It needs to be incorporated into this article with reference to the existing stand-alone article.

There's a lot of ancillary 20th Century history that probably belongs here rather than the Tanglewood article, for example:

"The Lenox School of Jazz, a summer program in Lenox, Massachusetts that was held from 1957 to 1960, holds a special significance in the history of jazz education. It was one of the first instances where the world's greatest jazz musicians were enlisted as faculty and where jazz was taught to promising young musicians."

Very affluent or not? edit

I deleted the words "very affluent" from the introductory paragraph because it might not be statistically accurate as far as per capita income, recognizing nonetheless that the town's presentation to visitors and its historical buildings speak otherwise. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SpikeTD (talkcontribs) 20:51, 1 December 2015 (UTC)Reply
