Lego Minecraft is a set not a theme. The Forbes report posted on Dec. 4, 2012 was just stating the demand of the Minecraft set by Lego. It is part of the Lego Cuusoo program which is still in 'beta'. This article needs more info.

There's rarely enough info about minifigure-sized LEGO Minecraft sets. The only mention about the fact that it was announced and released. Nobody put anymore information on it, not like the microfigure themed one.

I noticed an error in one of the links. In the entry for the Illager Raid, it mentions that one minifigure is based on Lego Ninjago, but the actual link leads to Numberblocks|Lego Ninjago.
